I am looking forward to the so called 'price efficient' Hybrid technology of Suzuki. If it works, I am okay with any hybrid model offered on their technology going forward. I am a strong Hybrid proponent and want more options than the GV/Hyryder in the 20 Lakhs segment.

Swift is something I'm excited to test drive too. I've been thinking about upgrading from the S-Presso to the Swift AT. It's very practical and has a great look.

Apart from that, I can't wait to see the Kia Carnival in person. It looks amazing in the pictures, and the specs are impressive too.

Only the Citreon Basalt, in the anticipated collaboration with Dhoni as an ambassador, ushering in the new genre of sedan-like crossovers seems to be visually and dynamically promising to me, with the sound engineering of their capable engines already in place.

I hope being a low equity player currently in the market, would make them price and pack it more worthily than many inflated experiences riding high on 'brand'!

Also the Hyundai Staria if it does come in would be nice to explore. Why don't we have any tremendously practical Sliding door vans apart from the low rent Eeco or the expensive Carnival. As a ex- Versa, Evalia owner, I'd pick one up as a 4th car for specific use cases if within 20 lakhs, irrespective of which brand launches one!

sigh, wish i had more to my list...alas I'm too old school to enjoy these LED, ADAS, touchscreen, sunroofy experiences posing as cars today.

I’m waiting for a good 25-30 lakhs EV to buy. Was looking forward to the Creta EV but the puny 45 kWh battery and the 130hp engine has killed all my interest in it.

Looking forward to the Curvv EV this year and the BE.05 next year. I hope Kia/Hyundai also utilise the new EV import duty of 15% by investing and bring in some good imports like the EV3.

Honestly none of the mentioned cars feel worthy enough for waiting. Most of them are boring. I was at one point waiting for the Altroz Racer but Tata has been delaying it for so long that now I am least bothered about it.

That said, I am waiting for two compact sedans that are supposed to be launched by the end of this year i e, the Maruti Dzire and the Honda Amaze. That too because we bought an Amaze recently.

One car I am really excited about is the return of the new Duster. Especially given the fact that it will have a petrol awd version, so no DPF nonsense.

Duster is probably the only one. I say probably because the exciting 4 cylinder turbo has been axed :( and I have deep aversion to 3 cylinder engines. Only hope is the 1.6L hybrid but then again not sure if that will be as fun-to-drive as the 4 cylinder turbo was.

I happened to walk past the new Carnival today and the exterior looks really stand out. The front might be polarising for a few folks, but the taillights while sporting the family design, look better on the Carnival due to the wide body. However, the taillights just stop short of connecting in the middle which some people might like.

Edit: the engine note was a bit loud on the outside even on a busy street.

I did not take any pictures as people were getting in and out of the vehicle.

Having sat in a previous gen Carnival (Uber) with bench seats, it was very spacious and wide with great legroom. But! The underthigh support was woeful and I'm only 5'6 tall. I can't imagine how bad it would be for the taller folks with long legs. Otherwise, as a backseat passenger, everything else was good.

In conclusion, I cannot wait for the new Carnival as it will stand out in the crowd despite being an MPV!

I would have to say the Tata Curvv. I can't wait to see what the new 1.5L is capable of.
I'm also excited for the new Mahindra BE cars and the Sierra.EV.

Edited to add: Last year there was some buzz around the return of HM in the EV space. That would be exciting.

I am looking forward for the Alcazar facelift. It may not be an enthusiast's car, but I am always enthusiastic to drive a car! It's a VFM 7 seater, loaded with features. Just hoping that it gets atleast a 3 * GNCAP rating. If Hyundai replicates Verna's 5 * for Alcazar, then it may give a run for the money for XUV7OO.
