this is the worst bit of news for the indian auto industry. We, Indians, have lost an oppurtunity to own one of most awesome cars ever to grace our roads!

P.S. Why is it so difficult for Fiat to make this car avaliable on order. The only difficult part will be to import the engine.

No need even to import the engine. The same is available and is being used in Petra1.6

The Palio 1.6 definitely is the faster car, no doubts about that.

i have the 1.6GTX.i have seen 165kmph on the clock in an 1k strech or road though it was a rolling start.the sail can never beat a 1.6GTX not 0-100 not 100-0.the 1.6 handles and rides like a hot hatch and hence the harsh stiff ride.the palio 1.6 was killed because because nobody buys it.i think there must be around 1000 1.6 all over india.thats all.we in our family have 3 note though no one can match corsa sails interiors

well
the palio 1.6 is btter value for money also and if i could i would go right out and sell off the merc and buy as many GTXs possible but since i cant and have to pay for my own fuel bill i prefer not too....
anyway ive seen 186 on my speedo on a recent trip to pune
the cars ride is not so harsh, its just that the eats arent soft so we ge harsh ride feeling
cheers

Well, i recently spoke to my Uncle who is the owner of Javali Motors "Fiat dealership" here in Hubli. According to him, the Palio 1.6 is still in production. ***!!!

He even told me that he has 1.6s for sale even today. i don't know what the deal is but if anyone is interested in a Palio 1.6 and finding it hard to get one, i can ask my uncle to help you out.
