Ford launches limited version Fiesta (1.6 fida edition)

I found this article in The Economic Times. Ford has launched a limited edition version of 1.6 duratec petrol - Fida edition @ 6.6 lacs (Ex Delhi).

Ford launches limited version of Sedan Fiesta- Automobiles-Auto-News By Industry-News-The Economic Times

This comes with the following extra features.

Turn Indicators on the ORVM
Color co-ordinated leather Vinyl seat covers
Vinyl dorr trims
Alloy wheels
Kenwood MP3 player

Ford - New Limited Edition Fiesta

If I am right, facelifted Fiesta launch is around the corner some time soon and Ford is trying to push the exsisting stock.

What's so 'limited' about these features. Except for the turn indicators, all the others seem present on the high end fiesta, right?
I hope companies start giving bigger engines, or performance tuned versions as limited editions. But, that could take another two decades!

Fiesta is still selling pretty nicely. Dont think they'll go for an upgrade soon.

IMO- They are just trying to push the sales of the 1.6L DuraTec version. Its the version with the lowest sales, Compared to the 1.4TDCi and 1.4 DuraTec.

Oh no not again. Sigh, Ford needs to learn how to make alloys on which people would really go fida.

New facelifted Fiesta is on the cards for 2008. Ford Brazil has introduced this

which may find it's way to the Indian shores.

Good lord!!!! Those alloys look worse than most plastic wheel covers in the market! What possessed them I wonder!

Didnt they just come out with a racing stripes edition a while ago? Tuen indicators on the mirrors will not look good on a Fiesta or any other car from that segment. And definately must be a basic Mp3 player.

They'll now sell it at a premium price over the not so limited edition model. Plain stupidity IMHO.

The differentiators are not properly mentioned in the website! The SXI also has alloy wheels, leather seats etc but this car is 60k less than what the SXI sells for!

The mention "extra grip" and the tires look different in the image on their website. Dont know if the tires are of different profile. I have seen and got disappointed that swift has bigger tires than the fiesta!

Fiesta tires are good but bigger ones will make it sexier and provide more grip! Better they improve the rear suspension as well. That is something we have not had much cribs about but sure there are cribs. It vigorously rocks you like being in a cradle during a storm (!!) on bad roads and at low speeds!

For 60 K less than the 1.6 sxi, don't expect great alloys . The new alloys with the top end sxi look a lot better.
Further, the mp3 player must be basic. The stock 6-cd player in the sxi does not play mp3, but has very decent sound quality.
Having turn indicators on ovrms seems to be a new feature, but these tend to get broken due to bikes, pedestrians, etc.
