Disgusting!, my bro's new Swift ZXI ran out of petrol, we where assuming that the Light would come ON.

Our Santro had the warning light. Pathetic MUL is cost cutting is taking this far. A car costing Rs. 6 Lakh does not have a basic warning light.

I don't think it was ever provided in the Estilo.

Re: Maruti Suzuki - Low Fuel Warning Indicator

hmmm....very interesting.

I have recently got my hands on a second-hand 2009 SX4 VXi and yesterday I noticed that the fuel indicator was below the E mark and there was no low fuel warning lamp.

I switched off the engine and turned the key half way so that all the lamps on the instrument panel light up, but there was no low fuel indicator lamp at that time as well.

Upon closer inspection, I did see the outline of a lamp near the E mark but there is no light in it.

As it is SX4 doesn't have a DTE indicator and now to find that it doesn't even have a low fuel warning lamp is

Maruti Suzuki - Low Fuel Warning Indicator

Low fuel warning lamp is a simple feature and can easily be provided in cars. But someone getting stranded without fuel because of the absence of this warning lamp is simply taking things to a new level. Anyone would occasionally peep into their instrument cluster for sure. If you did not notice the fuel gauge, you will not have noticed the warning lamp either. I would suggest you run through the instrument cluster periodically at least to make sure that there are no engine check lights ON. You never know what will happen with a machine, any machine, for that matter. The earlier you take note of it and take preventive measures, the better.

And yes, i am surprised that even Swift and the SX4 does not have it !

Re: Maruti Suzuki - Low Fuel Warning Indicator

Very surpising that early Swifts didn't have it.

Newer models have it. I have seen it in Astar, 2010 old shape Swift K, new Swift P and new Swift D. The light comes on with a chime.
