Toyota wid a Diesel. Beats me.

Even their SUV the Toyota Land Cruiser is petrol sipper(shud i say petrol galloper).

The car will be only available in Petrol rite now.

I read it in the Autocar of this month that a diesel version will be available but not at the time of the launch.

Also it was shown in the magazine a few months back that the present corolla was getting a D4D engine.


And 1 more thing I wanted to ask. Isn't the Engine a bit odd.a 1.6 offering by other companies generally is about 100-105bhp (ie Corolla Overpowered )and the ones the company's offering 1.8 are generally 130 odd.
(Underpowered)?

Well, found this out!

The 1.8L engine powering the current Corolla may be tuned for more power and better efficiency. A super powerful 1.6L, 126hp motor is also being considered by Toyota while a 2-litre common rail diesel engine will surely make life difficult for the Optra Magnums and the Skoda Octavias here!-------------SOURCES
