Lol! This title brought a thought to my mind. Maruti launching a new variant so soon after the SX4's launch itself and with the long waitlist of the normal SX4 how would they handle Sport Variant of SX4 unless its imported as CBU.

Few weeks back I saw ad from BIMAL saying book SX4 today and get it within a week.

this also mean Maruti's new plant is producing more cars now i guess.

Regards,

Ravi.
I guess, they want to raise the demand with these ads, since increased production results in faster delivery & they can clear existing orders.

So Maruti wants to create more demand for SX4, so that they can increase the future production capability & then supply the cars to meet the existing demand?

Those are specs of the North American SX4. Over there suzuki has two variants of the car,SX4 and SX4 sport. The engines are the same, the sport gets some extra equipments like side and bumper skirts etc.

As long as demand is more, whether they can meet it or not, their stocks will go high, that's it.

You guys can stop dreaming. As usual USA and other 'developed' countries get SX4 sedan with 2000cc,150 bhp engine and 17 inch alloys while we third world countries get a miserly 102bhp, 1600cc woefully underpowered engine with 16 inch alloys. The most disgusting thing is that the price of the SX4 sedan and Maruti SX4 is exactly the same.

Don't even talk about the sports model which is available everywhere except India. It has 18 inch alloys with an even more powerful engine. Take a look!

This is true. US has a SX4 sports (sedan) and SX4 Crossover (SUV) available with much better spec (Suzuki Cars | New 2007 & 2008 Suzuki Car Models — Yahoo! Autos)
I have seen few crossovers on US roads, but no sedan.

sx4 sport in india ,afaik is the same car with the add ons like spoiler ,sports kit etc.no performance hike or upgraded tyres for that matter.but it would be a bargain since the add ons would be given at an attractive price.this scheme is brought from the dealer point and not from msil.

They have an add on package for Rs-58000, which adds choice of 16" League alloys, Leather seats with color choice, tyre and some few small things.I do not remember all of them exactly.
Does this make SX4 a sports variant. I think it is showroom-to-showroom dependent.
