The pricing game of course Its an accord/camry competitor and they can only sell if they offer it at civic prices. Initial reviews have been very favourable for the kizashi btw, but lets see if it sells. The sonata embera being a very capable car hardly sells comapared to its smaller and more expensive

"The Kizashi is going to be sold in India. I do not think the launch in India is that far in the future," American Suzuki Motor Corp (automotive marketing and Public Relations) vice-president Gene Brown told PTI on the sidelines of the Chicago Auto Show.

Note the key word here, he does not think! Im sure the vice president of automotive marketing and public relations of suzuki usa has no clue of what MSIL's actual plans here

But what a game changer in the D segment !
An Accord sized sedan for the price of a civic!
Bring it on
Its not really Accord sized. Its comparable to the JDM Accord.

With its modern looks and underpinnings and if they can price it right(11-13lakhs),it has fair chance of success.

well the kizashi is more of a everyday sedan that looks fab. Talked to a few guys in Maruti dealerships as well as a friend who is in the corporate - dates are not yet identified but probably sometime next year is what we are looking at. Roadtests will start soon though and we may be looking at a diesel option too.

The problem is Cruze which for 13 lakhs is a steal. Lot of thought going into it because next year there is a diesel sx4 on the cards too.

Not really. I understand much of the Kizashi is supposed to get localized with time as well, which will directly lead to better pricing.

The Vitara however is quite outdated for today, and being a CBU it is overpriced. There are plenty of better options over the Vitara and hence it hardly sells!

Why, even a chevy SR-V looks classier and makes a better statement than the Vitara today! (Sorry for comparing 2 different segments altogether but that's the way it stands)!

No. Grand Vitara is a CBU although Kizashi would be manufactured in India.
Most probaly the car will be launched in Jan-Mar 2011. 10 % chances for getting launched in Dec, but not before that in any case.

If Suzuki is bringing in the International spec Kizashi with the 2.4L (J24B) engine then no way they can price it below 14Lacs.

But what they could possibly do is plonk the M18A engine in to the Kizashi and price it between 11-13 lacs.

If the report in the link is true, Kizashi is going to face the same fate as Vitara. At 18-20L it stands no chance against a Honda Accord or a Superb. RIP Kizashi

Re: when is kizashi coming to india

Looks like this car will be a another History In Indian MSIL portfolio.

Why MSIL is still sleeping. I believe in this rate MSIL will going to loose a market share which SUZUKI is enjoying by giving peanuts to Indian Customer.
