BHPian Svsantosh had already posted a thread about the Indica LPG launch a few days before this thread was posted.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...-launched.html

maybe these two threads can be merged ?

Whoa, just now I saw an LPG Maruti 800/WagonR and now Xeta. Has anyone bought it already. How is the performance & mileage w.r.t. petrol and diesel indicas.

PS: This thread has gone completely OT in last couple of pages. People, please stick to the topic.

But the fact is that TATA are the real professionals and we are just enthusiasts. Do you agree? Being a economy car manufacturer, they have to look at many things before making a decision. Market research and past experiences dictate the current product placement and design and they have access to all that and we dont, right?

IMO, the bolded part is the single main reason why the All new Indica looks exactly like the current indica. The current Indica will *not* be discontinued. It will sell side by side with the newest Indica. But selling a older model along with a newer model is not possible unless the newer model looks almost same as older one. IIRC (and I am not sure here) Hyundai Sonata is an example, the embrera which is radically different and much better than the older sonata failed to sell as expected. In India, customers really do not care for the mechanicals underneath(except for Bhpians) as long as the price is attractive.

This strategy is completely opposite to the German car makers where the new sheet metal is released first and the the engines and transmission change a year later. Expect a completely redesigned Indica in 2 years time which would coincide with a discontinuation of Current gen indica.

a pic of the boot - sorry forgot to snap the hood - saw it thogh, its a Lambda kit looks better and reliable than wagon R's.

The boot space has reduced considerably here

Any news about the X1? I believe it can not be messed with Nano's limelight Diwali Launch. So it should be prior to that. Any Insider info about the X1 Lanuch date?
