Went to the showroom(Ring Road Honda) to get my brother's car, which had gone for servicing.
Was sitting with a guy from the showroom(dont know his post but he once took me for a test drive) and talking.

After a while both of us went out to smoke a ciggarette. At that time, he mentioned about the 2.2 diesel and THE 3.5 V6 Engines for the Accord.

Honda is currently seeing the demands of the customer and chances are that if the survey is accepted ( i.e. demand for the 3.5 v6 is there ) , then they might launch it about June Next Year.

The diesel on the other hand will be introduced after the CRV comes with one

Also the Accord Diesel will be around 18.5 - 20 Lakh for the base model

wow the 2.5 v6 honda accord, sure about one thing going to be a great engine.
VW passat is where they want to compete and position themselves.
If that happens Toyota Aurion shall also be responding with something different.

I never expected them to go higher on the engines available for the accord specially since the family car image would not fare that with a heavier engine.
o well lets see.

You know if honda launches a diesel accord i will be the first one to buy it here
even if it means SELLING MY HOUSE< dads words

I just hope they give "VCM" on the Indian Accord V6, this time around.

That is good news.
I am not sure about the V6, which will now put around 250bhp in Indian specifications ( in other markets its around 268bhp ).

But the most interesting part here is the wonderful diesel from Honda. That 2.2 is really very good engine and bringing it in CRV will hurt most others, and doing that in Accord will just make a very successful model.

In this months autocar india ,HSCI VP has denied any plans of launching Diesel CR-V and Accord.If its true then Honda has lost a potential customer:Frustrati

the 3.5 is coming for sure, when i dont know that now. mostly this year itself. it is confirmed.

I guess, in some thread, GTO had mentioned that Accord V6 3.0 was discontinued because there was no demand for it. How come reversal of stance by Honda! I have reasons not to believe this scoop. Another just rumor thread.

this month's ACI had a letter from Honda stating that they would never sell a diesel in india.

Good move. Perhaps, those will be converted in taxis and that is something they have committed not to let it happen anywhere in globe. Imagine, Honda City Diesels flying around with yellow number plates... :Shockked:

But i remember seeing a pic of a grey CRV diesel being tested with red plates and all!! Surely they must be having some intention of launching it!

But there are already quite a lot of (white) City's with yellow plates. Yes, with a diesel there could be more.

Which company likes to be told what car they are bringing in without them making a formal announcement.
Would love to see diesels in Honda.

Will be the original tuning and not detuned for india
Diesel CRV coming very soon. Accord Diesel to follow
Not this year. Even the deisel CRV will come early next year

Always happens. Its done just to make sure people dont wait for the deisel and continue buying the car.
