What is the RTO going to come up with next ! Facing a shortage of staff, they have gone ahead and placed scare crows..oops, plastic cutouts of traffic policemen on the highway in a bid to slow traffic down.

Are the full-size dummy cops going to work?

They are real misleading images. But once one becomes aware that these are dummies, then no body will care for them !
Good initial move, but I dont think that they will work for long. People will immediately start recognizing who is dummy and who is real.

But, frankly speaking, if it had not been the thread title, I would have mislead these dummies for real cops!

Nice one GTO. This is like using the optical illusion speedbreakers.

Yes,
think of them as toothless tigers that will scare (if not snare) motorists! And they will work - depending on what the department expects from them (speed-breakers!)

Now that people know that these cops are not real and stand still every day in the same position whos gonna be afraid of scarecrows.

Specially if pigeons and crows make them, their home.

Everytime I see a thing looking like a police car, or a tripod on a highway I slow down.
I think this is going to work. Nobody is going to risk a 400rs Challan

apparently the cops plan to stand some 200 meters after these dummies with real speed guns . The dummies are to warn people that "they are watching"

Here is another take : I think the RTO is going to have to worry about security. In all certainty, these plastic cutouts will get flicked and find their way into someone's hutment!!

A real traffic policeman to guard the dummy, wot?
