Good that they have given the CRDe heart to Balero also. Now, we have some serious competition in the MUV segment.

If they do not acheive the sales target, then M&M should plan to replace all the Govt and other department Bolero's with the new heart.

@rjstyles thats why we ended up buying it. Well the only drawback i faced was the powerless engine of the xd3p before. Want to take this for a drive.

Is this engine with a turbo setup as even the rhino has one

Mahindra Bolero

I stopped by to check the prices in Bangalore - surprising that Karnataka is not mentioned in the drop-down menu.

I believe it is expected in BLR in a week/ ten days.
Likely cost Ex Showroom here is about 7.2 - 7.4 L
Add Road Taxes and Insurance etc and the vehicle will cost about 7.8-8L OTR BLR.

Now that the LX Scorpio is priced at about 9.17 L OTR BLR, this differential of 1 lac odd between the TOP END BOLERO VLX Crde and the Lowest end Scorpio LX will surely see many utility/ value seeking buyers migrating towards the BOLERO VLX Crde.

While these new developments are first class, a couple of things they could have taken into account are:

1.to provide split foldable rear seats in this new VLX version
2.to introduce a VLX 4WD version reasonably soon
3.to introduce it with nice 5 spoke alloy wheels like they did the Scorp VLX.

Maybe they could also consider at a slightly later date, a Bolero Crde VLS version too and offer that without some of the cosmetically inclined trimmings but with 2WD and/or 4WD versions - now that would be a killer!

Am waiting to test drive it once it gets introduced here in Bangalore!

Mahindra should launch cheaper variants with the same engine,i would never suggest a bolero at this price even if comes with a mhawk engine. The pricing is too high for a bolero.

Sweet...The Bolero finally gets a common-rail!! Though the DI Turbo's are torquey, I preferred the drive characteristics of the XD3P (only 4x4). Alas, 2WD buyers simply had no choice but to opt for the DI turbo. This common-rail diesel should perform at a different level altogether. Not to mention, the torque is 40% more than the DI.

I hope the pricing is competitive. Couldn't see numbers on the website, but for a 1 lakh rupee differential, the Scorpio does offer a lot more.

If 7.2lac was its ex-showroom price then atleast it should come with alloy wheels and tubeless tires
