Might be possible, depends on the licensing by FIAT, just like TATA JLR cannot fit Land Rover engines in their Safari again due to licensing.

But Maruti would have looked into that earlier right.

i agree. all this is nonsense just to push sx4 sales.
If it were really true, the dealer would never have opened his mouth about it.

You never know. This must be a deliberate move from the dealers just to push up SX4, Dezire petrol and Swift hatch sales (Petrol & Diesel). Theres no way we can stop market speculation. IMO, better to hear from one ear and pass out from the other.

Suzuki's collaboration with Fiat & GM/Opel covers an entire range of engines: 1.3, 1.6 and 1.9. Considerable investment has already been made by Suzuki in the Manesar plant. It's unlikely that such a big venture will come to an end for something as flimsy as this.

As far as I know, in India, Maruti Suzuki can fit the engine in any car they want ( for India ) and that is why we have Palio MJD Vs. Swift DDiS in the market. Suzuki is free to do this in India. Even Maruti 800 can use this motor and SX4 can also use this motor.

This news is baseless and moreover looks like a marketing strategy to either increase slaes of Dzire DDiS ( done by dealer ) or to decrease ( done by competetior ).

@mods : Can we lock this thred ? It will lead us nowhere.
