Skoda Superb Sales numbers

According to an article in today's Business Standard
Skoda plans more 'C' class launches

The company had received 600 bookings for Superb, of which 300 have been delivered.

Is this just a PR excercise or facts??

If it is true..no wonder the dealer's have such a "care a damn for the customer" attitude

Has any one taken out the V6 for a drive ?

Skoda has really put up a tempting offer (I am still confused about that 2.66 valve issue!). I would really go for a 4WD V6 which is priced below 30L.

I have not taken it for a spin yet as I was busy buying and restoring a Palio 1.6 GTX.

Skoda's PR guys goofed up and said 16 valves instead of saying 4 valves per cylinder. 4 * 6 = 24 not 16 which is 4 * 4.

Cheers,

Had the Superb been not from the Skoda, I would have been driving the same. Great product in the hands of wrong company.

Have cancelled the plan of Superb after the attitude of Sales guy at the dealer and threads discussed here.

This is just like putting a piece of cheese in cage in front of mice!

Hmm. Thanks a lot ajmat. Makes me think seriously if I should cancel my Superb 3.6 booking and go for a more practical 1.8 TSI though it wouldn't be satisfying from performance point of view. However from the review it seems that the 3.6 FSI is not a performance car anyway. Confused again ...

Entropy, a suggestion.

Test drive the Superb Diesel (2 ltr PD).

I think this car with a remap will have loads of torque!!

Even if there is one v6 in Jammu or kanyakumari - fly over drive it and make your judgement. Cost of travel will be less than depreciation

. Thanks !! Frankly I'm not concerned much about the depreciation but it should score well on the emotional satisfaction and overall experience. Now I should start searching from Jammu to Kanyakumari where I can lay my hand on a v6 for a test drive. If I can find one in Delhi it would be excellent.

BTW I have asked the dealer to put my order on-hold until I make up my mind.

And finally somebody somebody has managed to trounce a Honda product. Now who will buy Accord ??

Now after the killer pricing, Skoda has to introduce only a 4 years warranty and service package to make Superb, its segment leader. This will also address the A.S.S. fright, which propective customers face before buying SKODA.

I hope Skoda will repeat this act of killer pricing & specs with the upgraded Laura.
Adding to the A.S.S., Skoda needs to look into its spare parts prices also to compete with Honda. This will also help increase the resale value for Skoda cars.

Don't go for Skoda, their Customer Service is pathetic. I have been suffering at the hands of Skoda for past one year

Sorry to bump this old thread but Ajmat's link isn't working. Any other road tests of the V6 Superb? Even Autocar hasn't done one!
