A lot of people would like to say that but honestly if this option was available right now would you pull out your cheque book.

When the SRV was announced, there were many who said "I feel like standing outside the showroom with my chequebook right now to get the first SRV". "It's the best car to buy". Autocar also gave it the Thumbs up (their thumbs are always up for any and every Chevy or Opel). Finally none of the enthuaists turned up to buy the car. There was no talk of a Diesel then. diesel was supposed to be for taxis not sport cars.

If the SRV was available for 5-5.5L or the TDCi was available for 6-6.5L, I would buy it instantly.

So all Optras except Magnum are discontinued? Or there's some catch there?

EDIT: Oh! sorry, I thought Magnum was only Diesel but its both.

The car had a lousy performance for the sporty image it was trying to portray.

IMHO it was also ahead of its time as a premium hatch offering. Instead of pulling the plug on it GM ought to introduce the 2L TDCI along with added safety features such as ABS and airbags and position it against the Jazz/GP/Polo/I20/Fabia - Of course the price needs to be rationalised a bit!

Last time I checked with Sundaram, they were offering a discount of 1 lakh + on the SRV! Maybe another 50k and it will get takers. Looks are unparalleled in my opinion albeit a bit on the blingy side. If only they put in the 2.0 lt TCDI!!!!

It's sad indeed! SRV was a great looker and goer, too, to some extent. We will miss it. But serves the GM right. They own a stake in Fiat and yet they can't power their Sparks, SRVs and UVA's with the multijet engine like Maruti has done and laughed all the way to the bank. Sad indeed!

It was the last ditch effort to get it moving in the form of the supercharger and it simply failed.I think no adv regarding the same came-horendous marketing in any case. But look wise it was a stunner and that spoiler kit was a beauty. The kit was priced too heavily too.Anyways its over and let this beauty be at rest.

I really loved the looks of this SRV.It was very sporty specially with the spoiler and alloys! Only if GM could price it correctly...the SRV wouldn't have been discontinued!

Yup, that's the one I am talking about. Even with that supercharger, it was slower to the 100 than an OHC or a Baleno!

I agree with whats being said here, in every sense its horrendously overpriced. I would have loved to own one like everyone here. Neighbor has one though, guess I should make him a offer soon and I am pretty sure the guy will never buy a chevy again because of the resale he is going to get.

SRV was launched on the same day when I went for an Aveo test drive. My first impression after seeing the vehicle on the red carpet was - Who is going to buy this vehicle for this price? I was right, no one bought that in Coimbatore. :-)
