Thats a good news for 1.6 fans. But do check whether this include corporate discount + dealer discounts. The reason I said this is, when I booked my Palio, they said 8k corporate discount, on top of it they have give another 10k cash discount.

If I get one, I'd like to keep it for long (say 8 yrs). I don't want to be waiting for weeks to get spares like i did for my Ford Escort which was sold off last year.
In the recent meet with TATA-FIAT officials with the PUG, they have hinted Palio is here to stay. Palio Stile will be as a entry level hatch.

I'm sure the 1.6 in Palio Stile Sports will be continued too as its a cheapest rocket FIAT has offered!

Now how they are gonna manage with Palio and GP, is their headache So why not make the best out of it..

That is a good news too. I have just picked up a Palio and this phase out discussion was kind of saddening news for me. All the Palio owners would be very happy to see their machines around for a long time as it is one of the best hatchback around at this moment.

So happy to read that. I hope the things work out and I get my hands on "my very own beast" sooner.

That depends on what price do they decide for the Punto, if they are targeting low prices close to swift etc then it would be difficult for Palio to survive, it is doing very poor numbers as it is.

Which was roughly the same month/two months ago considering some 10K odd discounts.

I'am really not aware of this ex-factory price and ex-showroom price. Why the customer should be really bothered about the ex-factory price? Can understand the showroom price but why the hell exfactory price?

Or is the dealer really not passing the discount to customer??

Ya. It is clearly mentioned "Ex Showroom"

Fine print says these are special prices for the month of May 09 and all offers are from Dealers only. So i guess few dealers will offer this and few wont!!

However tempting the offer might be, at the end of the day, what matters is fact that the interiors are out dated and its high time that FIAT does something about the same.
