Last strategy to save a dying model!!

Chevy India are you listening?? Get the Diesel engine from Magnum and put it in this one. Then see the magic.

Of course a face lift also would make some difference to the sales numbers I guess.

Look like they are trying hard to get some numbers. Look at the ad in today's TOI. Some good features are there than what we got.

Autobild's latest issue says that the Aveo is being revised with:
  1. New headlamps (like the 2009 Aveo UV-A) http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...tml#post872953
  2. New GM 'corporate' elongated/revised bumpers ('Cruze' style);
  3. New interiors which (from the picture), seems to have a 2 DIN touchscreen HU, and
  4. Sunroof (?) see picture in link below.
No idea about prices and sadly, no change to the 1.4/1.6 engines or gearbox.

I heard the 1.6 heart in Aveo will be dropped once the cruze is launched. So, it would be only 1.4 engines doing their duty in Aveo.

The facelifted Aveo does look cool. But how much this will help? Without any change in the engine? Hope they tune it to be more driver friendly.

would NOT recommend you the aveo as.

1) It is due for a change in looks in next 6 months.
2) The drive is boring and NOT driver focused.
3) Not sold in decent enough numbers and support could later be an issues. (post your 3 year warranty AMC)
4) Resales will be poorer compared to the fiesta.
5) Engine / Transmission / gearbox are all better in the Fiesta.
The only positives are + Great Interiors design and looks + Warranty / AMC pack.

On the other hand the fiesta is Driver focused and better built overall. Though a new fiesta is also due in the next year the current one has sold in decent numbers till now in India for support systems to sustain.

IMO, present model has got better look than the 2010model.Secondly, this new model may not be introduced in Indian market so soonand probably they may change some basic designs to attract indian market?

I feel the new Fiesta looks much more aggressive than the existing one.

Coming back to the Aveo, I feel that Aveo in its current package sounds a good buy, if the person considering it wants decent looks, average performance (+ very spongy gear box) and is not very much bothered about the resale value. On the other side, the new Aveo would be priced much higher when launced and would take a long time before General Motors gives away such huge discounts while adding features.

I doubt if they will price it high. Will affect the Optra segment.
