I am part of the 'lucky' first 1 Lac customers. However, delivery date for my Nano is July 2010 to Sep 2010. They appeared to have messed up the dealer information. Instead of Pandit Automotive, Pune - it reads "Pandit Automotive, Baramati". I will have to get it corrected.

My co-brother had booked one for himself, he too has got the allotment letter for delivery around Jan - Mar 2010 !

I read that TATA plans to deliver the first 1 lac withing this yr. itself. Many people have got alottment with delivery scheduled for 2010. ( including yours truly ... :( )
Is there any way to confirm this ? Because if its so , i dont mind continuing my order.
If its gonna be sept -dec 2010 , i would like to cancel the booking now....
- help needed URGENTLY. IF anybody HAS got a source in TM., PLEASE OBLIGE with the info...

Just had a talk with a TM representative regarding my query. He told me that if the delivery is scheduled to be in dec 2010 , i 'll be delivered the car only then.

The so called advantage 'll be that i'll get price protection. i.e. the co. ll give the car at the same price irrespective of the price then.
The LX retails at 2.08 lacs already.
Assuming its a great car for the price, even if they increase the price by say 35 k , they 'll be dangerously close to a stripped down version of alto , or even a new compact car by a rival , let alone the old warrior maruti 800.So unless if its really a great car and becomes a big hit, there is no way they can increase the price without uprating the specs/ features substantially.

would it be wise to keep the alottment then or chance your luck at that time ? any ideas anybody ?
The europa is to be launched sometime in 2010. The specs & the look is fabulous , looking IMO as good as most new hatches in market now.

Assuming tata also launches the diesel version in mid 2010,or ealry 2011 in india and the europa version late 2011, it just doesnt make sense to me to retain my alottment.
Only way it may work is if a lot of people cancel their bookings amongst the first lac applicants or if Tata ramps up their production big time.

Congrats ! Considering the pedigree of the steeds in your stable , what are the chances that you may not need one of the 2 nanos ?

Besides you may be in a position to shed some light about the production situation and projected delivery schedule ???
