How to Drift a Car?

I use to wonder myself when people drift their cars in movies etc.
This bug was itching me since childhood and now I became mature enough to try this stunt myself
in a school play ground near my home, use to try when there was no one around,by pulling the hand break, turn inwards & accelerate a bit simultaneously in-order to have a small turn.
But I was very much scared of the vehicle getting toppled.Perform this when I found enough gravel around to spin the car in order to save my tire burn.I was successful but not to my satisfaction.though the car had a spin, but realized that its due to gravel the car had turned

I know our guys might be aware of doing this and want get some serious inputs form bhpians.

Does the car needs any modifications and can be done in an daily drive car?
Heard there will additional clutch or break to operate,is it true?
Is it possible to do this in FWD car?

Mods:I've searched,but couldn't find one.
Pls move this to appropriate section.
