Great

The engine you are refering is the most sold (or fitted) in VW group cars worldwidely.

Same can be seen on Skoda cars in coming years.

Now you know why people should wait for at least an 1 year before rushing to buy the newest beauty in Motown it was exactly an year back when they launched Jetta i India and they have already launched a new engine quietly . What happens to people who brought this car in past 1 year ?

I hope Fiat also has surprise for people who wait for an year to buy Linea & Punto

Similar thing observed for i10 ( first they added 1.1 exlr engine then added 1.2)
i20 first 1.2 now 1.4

So clearly wait for atleast one year to buy the model from launch ,if you not in LOVE with that model.

OK, Guys,

Any reference to the source of this thread (apart from the discussion with the dealer)?

Nobody other than us seems to be aware...on the net and in the press that is.

Why would VW put in a new engine in the old Jetta due for replacement and launch the engine in India first.

I'm pleasantly surprised to say the least.
As per the German VW site, the jetta is no longer available with PD engine, but is coming with 3 CRDi engine options-1.6 L, 2.0L 140 ps and 2.0L 170 ps.
