Re: Tata Nano - Official Accessories List!

Hi Jignesh,

Postponed the delivery to 10th as i wanted it to coincide with a special day in our family

I opted for white. Planning to get some good decals only for the sides. It seems Tata OE decals are full body ones. Searching for alternatives.

Re: Tata Nano - Official Accessories List!

Hello BHPians,

Here are some photos of our 2012 TATA Nano CX, after a host of accessories, standard and custom. At delivery we had the entire car (coachwork and underbody) 3M detailed.

Here is what you will see in the photos attached:

1) Bumpers, door handles, windshield wiper base plate, plastic quarters at windows & C Pillar air-intake grilles painted with TATA OE Mica Black
2) NANO badge on the bonnet with chrome accents
3) '2012 Edition' designation board
4) OE Fog lamps
5) 'CX' badge below turn signal indicators
6) TATA Nano OE alloy wheels
7) Reflective red tape within reversing light insert.
8) Chrome tail-pipe cover
9) Scuff plates
10) TATA monogram on dashboard
11) Dashboard clock
12) Reflective tape insert in steering boss
13) Belkin mobile phone charger
14) FIAT Punto horn set
15) Anti-skid mats in the dashboard storage areas
16) Glove box fixed to floor with bottle holder
17) A4 size tray to carry loose papers
18) Stepney faces outward for easy periodic air-pressure checks

The glove box was fitted using the OE retaining nut that is fixed below the floor, used to secure the electric window controls on the LX model. The bottle holder is secured to the lid of the glove box with a small size 10 nut and bolt. A Maaza 1.2L bottle fits snugly and does not topple out even on hard bends.

The stepney normally faces the firewall making it very inconvenient to check air-pressure periodically. We extended the retaining bolt by 2" so that it can be installed face-out. Placing the air-filler valve right at the top makes it very easy to check air-pressure now.

We also have two large recycled cardboard boxes in the rear storage area to prevent items rolling around and giving you a heart-attack when they bang into the rear hatch cover.

Our little Nano never fails to turn heads when she is on the road!

Neil.

Sir, may I congratulate you on a brilliantly upgraded car!! More people need to see this post and learn how it's done.

Everything you did to the exterior of the car is perfect and classy.

One request: Can you post some photos of the horn set that was installed? Have you faced any problems after installing these dual horns. Any problems overall that you can share ? If you have already posted this info elsewhere please point me to it:-)

Thank you for your photos!

Re: Tata Nano - Official Accessories List!

Hello friends,

At the outset, my apologies for not responding earlier to the questions sent in by fellow BHPians. Here are the answers:

Shiny bumpers : The bumpers have been painted with TATA's OE metallic black paint.

Tray in front well : It does not touch the shins or feet at all even if a tall person sits in the passenger seat. You need to fix a tray that will hold an A4 size sheet of paper.

Fiat Punto horn set : Surprisingly the FIAT Punto horn set is a more economical buy than the TATA Indigo set. These are twin horns, fitted one each on the support members that flank the spare tyre in the spare tyre cavity.

I always have all additions to the car carried out at TATA's authorized dealers as they know the car best and its limitations. No problem after fitting the FIAT horns. They are much better than the standard Nano horn, which many say sounds worse than a step-through bike!

A small word of advise - retain your OE horn, should you fix any other. This is a fail-safe just in case the new horn does not work for any reason.

Two switches on front panel : Next to the USB charging port, one switch is for the fog lamps and the second is a change-over switch for the horns.

Re: Tata Nano - Official Accessories List!

Hello friends!

We have upgraded our Nano with a 2013 rear bumper. The upgraded bumper has a built-in ventillation grille that is enormously helpful in dissipating engine heat when the car is rolling through slow-moving traffic or at stand-still.

We had the bumper painted black (like its predecessor) and the ventillation grille in Papaya Orange. Futher, we fitted the rear fog-lamp on the bumper but with a difference. The lamp is wired up as a parking/brake indicator. Looks really great at night. All this was done at the dealership.

We have also replaced the bumper '2012 Edition' designation boards with 'Custom', which is apt considering the extent of customization this car has seen!

Photos are being attached with this post.

Re: Tata Nano - Official Accessories List!

looks superb! you really have a one of a kind Nano, and more than anything you have an excellent asthetic sense:-).
one request: if photos of your horn fitting were posted, it would help all of us nano owners . the original horn leaves a lot to be desired.

Re: Tata Nano - Official Accessories List!

Sorry I forgot to add the horn installation photos. They are installed on the vertically-angled support struts on either side of the stepney. We used existing holes in these struts - no drilling required.

Re: Tata Nano - Official Accessories List!

Hello Team BHPians,

Here are two new additions to our 2012 TATA Nano CX which make the car look quite up-market:

1) Art leather seat covers
2) Autographix wood accent kit

The art leather seat covers were inspired by the 2013 Nano which we took for a test-drive and came away very impressed with the smoother drive (over our 2012 edition). The seats of the 2013 test car felt softer and more comfortable. Back home we mulled over many options and finally consulted our dealership which has tied up with a great seat cover manufacturer. They suggested an additional layer of foam between the OE seat and the art leather covers. The result - super soft seats all round! We selected dull orange with a minimum of black which blends with the rest of the interiors and gives it a dignified appearance.

About to leave the dealership after the seat-cover job and our good friend from Accessories comes along with a mischievous smile. "I've got something to show you," he says and opens the door of a Nano on display (and conveniently at hand!!) and points to the dash. I go, "Wow!!! This has to be on my Nano!" Our friend clicks his fingers and his assistants get to work. Twenty minutes later my Nano's dash is transformed!

Autographix has conceived an excellent dashboard, central console and horn button overlay kit for the Nano. The wood tone is Rosewood with a hi-gloss finish. The sticker quality is superb. The horn button overlay for the CX version is more impressive than the LX which gets only an oval accent around the TATA monogram.

Here are photos.

Neil.
