These horror stories on Skoda continue to fill the forum - both on existing threads and new ones. We all know about the recall problems Toyota faced in the USA recently. This was only possible due to a governing body (NHTSA) in place to manage such problems. Am not saying NHTSA is flawless but it has the power to investigate and penalize car makers and are held responsible when large scale problems are reported (like the Toyota one). If we had such a system in place "maybe" harish's & other relevant cases would have been looked into. Am not sure if ARAI has such powers but its the need of the hour to have a governing body in place. Only time will say if it would serve its purpose though.

And until such times our car makers will continue to fleece its customers. Probably TBHP (if its feasible) should look into possibilities of influencing the authorities to come up with a governing body.

Not to nitpick but the Embera is actually the cheapest But the Superb is cheaper than the accord, camry and surprisingly quite a bit cheaper than the jetta, considering that they share a lot of parts

Like many other TeamBhp members, I would never buy a Skoda.

But, out in the streets there does not seem drastic hit in sales. People continue to buy it. So, the question is why people buy Skodas if its pathetic in quality and a.s.s.?

Simple - coz the cars themselves are that damn good.
