Re: Road Tax calculation for 4.5 yr old Car in Pune

Hi guys,

Met the vehicle inspector yesterday to sort this out in person.
I was surprised the way they worked. This Inspector was continuously texting me about challan expiry times and holidays of RTA all through this time.

Coming to the point, i met this inspector at office and requested to provide an "alternative"

He gave two points which might be useful for somebody like me..

1) I should have travelled back to Gurgaon and come back to Hyderabad with respective toll receipts and provide them to Inspector with a reason that you are travelling around and will be only for very short stay in that other city.
(or)
2) Leave your drivers license at RTA and he will give back your documents(if at all he holds them any), so that you can go back to your registered state and sell it.
Inspector will not forward the copy to concerned departments if we leave the drivers license to him as he can explain about holding drivers license to his superiors.

Top of this offer, what he also said is he would HELP me in getting another drivers license.

OPTED 2nd option as 1st option is too late.
could have used first option if its with in 10 days of vehicle caught

I will sell my Elantra going back to Gurgaon and will be a new one in Hyderabad.

Thanks guys for the info from all sides.

cheers
