I don't think they redesigned the front (however negligible the change may be) to phase it out. I am sure ikon will be around for the next 2-3 years.

On the other hand, it is still newer compared to older models of Maruti and even the Skoda Octavia. I think we don't complain much of these companies because they do bring in the newer versions of their cars (Maruti - Swift, Ritz, AStar, SX4), (Skoda - Laura, Superb, Fabia)

While Ford has no good line up -Fiesta is the only model that is decent in their lineup. Fusion doesnt sell, looks dated - Endevour constitutes a miniscule number. Ikon is antiquated. There is no real pull to a Ford showroom nowadays.

They are slow to launch and when they do, they heavily 'Indianize' their products (why may or may not be good) - But, we don;t get the real international versions of their cars despite them having a great lineup even in Europe.

So sad because they have cars that are brilliant to drive!

Wake up Ford!

Here's the list of things to expect in this "ikool"

Ford - Ford Ikon iKool

basically "i" seems to stand for iPod connectivity. pretty lame.

How Sick!

They removed the Body Side moulding in the facelifted Ikon and wrote this crap, "Smooth flowing side contours"!

Now they have added the same BSM and have written, "Dart shaped BSM" and adding it in the list of of Fully Loaded options

Thank god they added those side mouldings on the door. I saw a new Ikon yes'day and the side profile looked awful.

diabloo,
I guess there were 1.6D and 1.8D variants too

It can have as many as version they want. But ultimately there should be some changes/improvement.
If you see ACCORD/CAMRY ... also has many a variant.

Well, well well. I presume this is one of the corporate strategies adopted by Ford to test the iQ of the Indian Customer and his mental capabilities as well.

Jokes apart, the name iKool does not seem to be inviting enough for a buy.

They should have better called it face lifted Ikon, They are giving it last lease of life.
A car finally on ventilator (or should I call it iVentilator ) taking its last breath.

Bang on Nitrous, that has always been Ford's strategy.

IMO, the Ikon or Ikool will definitely bring in some sales for FORD, after all its inexpensive, has a tested 1.4 Duratorq motor, arguably the best handler in its segment, and now has some cool features also. Oops almost forgot the 28 kmpl FE on actual indian road conditions recorded on its recent all india rally.

How true! They must shoot down the person who even suggested removing it in the first place! It looks totally incomplete without the side strips.
