Infractions: 0/1 (7)

Its a C class elegance with the following add-ons:
  • avantgarde grille
  • avantgarde 5 spoke alloys
  • avantgarde bumper design (a bit different from the C 230 avantgarde)
  • power foldable mirrors with new style arrow shaped integrated turn indicators.

Oh finally they changed the ORVM's. I had read in a merc forum that the ORVM's were defective and were replaced early 2009 by the new arrow head design ones. The older ones were poorly designed and owners complained of excessive wind noise on autobahns.

Hopefully the mirrors are convex on both sides unlike the older one which was flat on the left. A big pain in traffic.

Actually, the C Class has consistently outsold the 3 series.

So the limited edition has the sports grill, some body kit bits, 17 inch wheels and a media interface (for iPod etc.). Not terrific value for a 1 lakh premium, yet those 60 cars should be easy to sell.

the c220 cdi parkstronic elegance has an ex-showroom delhi price of 31.62 lakh non metallic (32.25 metallic) and this car is price at 31.30 lakh, so how is it at a premium? do i miss something?

is it surely an elegance? maybe its a classic (manual) c class.

You mean the C-class didn't have electric ORVMs standard! For a car worth Rs.30L, it's a must! even the Punto has it man!

That grill alone is worth the price imho. The C looks so much better with the avantgarde grill.

Its not electric mirrors. The newly added feature is electric folding mirrors. Imho, the only hatch in india which has this feature is the i20! (Not sure if the fabia has it though)

Mercedes-Benz India today announced the launch of its Special Edition C-Class. This model will be available in three attractive colours - Carneol Red, Obsidian Black and Calcite White. The company plans to produce only 60 units of this special edition vehicle in order to maintain exclusivity.

At the launch event, managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz, Dr. Wilfried Aulbur presented the first Special Edition vehicle to the young [COLOR=black]& dynamic professional golfer Mr. Gaganjeet Bhullar.

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has always been a technological trailblazer in its segment. Its tasteful designs, striking interiors and superb driving experience have made it the most popular entry level vehicle from the Mercedes-Benz stable. The Special Edition C-Class is specifically designed to address those young Indian customers who seek sporty driving dynamics, aggressive looks and state-of-the-art gadgetry in their car, coupled with individual expression to compliment their lifestyle.

“The C-Class has been the star of young achievers & dynamic individuals whose lifestyle is a celebration of aspirations, ambitions and drive. Mercedes-Benz acknowledges such spirit and dynamism and Mr. Gaganjeet Singh Bhullar embodies these characteristics on and of the golf course… we are happy to welcome him to our family.” commented Dr. Wilfried Aulbur, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India as he handed-over the keys of the first Special Edition C-Class.

Speaking on the occasion, Gaganjeet Bhullar said, “I am delighted and feel privileged to be the first owner of the Special Edition C-Class. It’s a great honour to be acknowledged by an iconic brand like Mercedes-Benz, that is not only recognized worldwide for its leadership in premium automobile technology but also its commitment to customer satisfaction. Mercedes-Benz as a brand recognizes golf worldwide and I am glad to see they extend the same commitment to India recognizing the true spirit of this sport.”

The Special Edition C-Class showcases the sporting genes of the Mercedes-Benz brand with the Avantgarde styling package, highlighted most noticeably on the radiator grille with its distinctive louvres and the large, centrally positioned three pointed star. Among the car connoisseurs this design element has been seen, for a long time, as the original badge of the sportier Mercedes models.

The Avantgarde styling package includes the elaborate individual elements of the re-designed air intake sills, chrome surrounds on the fog lamps, the aerodynamic enhancements of the front apron spoiler, roof spoiler, rear apron spoiler and the rear spoiler lip to further accentuate the sporty stance of the car. The Special Edition C-Class features the 17-inch light-alloy rims with the exclusive 5 twin-spoke design.

Marking its debut in the Special Edition C-Class, is the ‘Universal Media Interface’. The UMI allows customers to connect to cutting-edge mobile entertainment and communication devices such as USB-based MP3 players, music mobiles, iPod or the iPhone to the on-board audio system. [/

The new sporty Special Edition C-Class will be offered at a competitive price of Rs. 28.46 Lakhs (C200 Kompressor) and Rs. 31.30 Lakhs (C 220 CDI) Ex-showroom Delhi and will be available through Mercedes-Benz Dealerships across the country.

Guys,

I'm in the market for either the C-classs or 320d. The price of Special Edition C-Class is being qouted as Rs. 30.82 lakhs ex-showroom by T&T motors in Delhi. Why's there discrepancy in price qouted by the dealer (30.82 lakhs) vs that when special edition was announced (28.42 lakhs)
