Obviously i want those safety features at this price! That is the first thing i look for, while buying a car. C'mon, when cars like the A-Star, Ritz, Estilo can have these at 5L, why not the Indigo XL!

Fantastic choice for deluxe taxi and also a tempting upgrade for prospective Indigo customers.

A bit late in the day for a TDi implant, but it could still prove to be a big hit with the taxi operators as well as chauffeur driven individuals.

Given the slump in the aviation industry, the budget airlines should maybe think about offering 'limo service' with a fleet of our very own budget Indian limos!

Looks like a last ditch effort from Tatas to sell this car in good numbers. Correct me if I am wrong, but this car never sold in good numbers. But this is total VFM, nevertheless.

This also signifies a couple of things, IMHO.

The New Vista based sedan is round the corner.
And it seems Tata has dumped the 1.4 Dicor completely!

Off topic: Whats next after XL? XXL....

From CS to XL, Indigo has sizes similar to shirt sizes, S, L XL....

Thanks for letting me know..

I know it very well mate! What I meant was, its price can even make a premium hatch buyer rethink and probably go for this limousine.

Ha ha... You know what Indigo CS stands for? Indigo Cut Short. Jokes apart, it looks better than the other variants.

I think this is a good move by TATA, howver I think they will have to tune the 1.4 TDI mill a little different, this time for more power to pull the added weight.

Why are you comparing an extra long sedan with a hatchback?

Guys Chill !!!!

This forums about the Indigo XL !!!!
My brother own one in petrol + LPG combination and it ROCKS on SPACE !!!

even a 7 footer will be easily accommodated in the rear seats !!!
We went for a Pune - Banglore trip and the most enjoyable times was at the rear seat of the car when we used to swaps drives. Trust me if TATA can manager to tewak the TDI engine for a good pull and power with an FE around 14-16 they have a winner at their hands !!!

Some people talk as if they have been driven around in an ABS\Airbag car all their lives!
Over 90% vehicles in india are non-abs.
@theragingbull, would love to know the car you drive! does it have an all wheel disc braking and Side airbags as well? If not then maybe you over paid!

The rear leg room of the Indigo XL is better than the Laura and comparable to the accord.

My parents simply loved the rear legroom of the Indigo and that seemed to matter most to them compared other high tech features that other cars offer. Some times simple inexpensive things are worth more than many for fancy features.

Indigo XL CNG Variant is already on sale since 5-7 months, various cab opeartors like Meru etc are already using it. Is that variant cheaper than what is lauchned , the TDI ONE?
