Diesel OCTAVIA with airbags at 10 lakhs will be steal except there dealers don't steal parts and car maintenance is under rs.20000 per year. Which i think is kind of impossible considering history of octavia dealers. How sad.

Reducing the price of its cars seems to be a recent strategy by Skoda.

Remember Superb is priced very very competitively than expected.

Wow. I wonder what "instigated" them to launch a car at 3 lakhs! Nano effect?

I don't believe this but even if its true service cost may exceed the price of the car itself .

Finally, finally, finally!! VAG has acted and begun to slot their various brands into the appropriate price bands. This has been a long time coming, and am I glad the moment is finally (almost) here! Jetta, here I come!

They may move the Octavia to ANHC level and will not loose any money as they can make up their profit by selling expensive spares.

They will continue to sell only because we will continue to buy only due to FE, other things be damned.

The 3 L car appears to be a publicity stunt, nothing else, unless they have gotten hold of Nano's drawings and will rebadge the Nano as Skoda Pano and charge double the price.

The people who buy cars in the 3-4L range expect cheap maintenance including cheap spare parts. Something that Skoda doesn't offer.

Well if they move a segment lower with the kind of crappy service and ridiculously exhorbitant spareparts list they now have, GOD HELP THEM!

The C-segment is unforgiving and Skoda's service and spares costs will effectively kill them even before their horrible customer service and dealer network does.

3 lakhs for a Skoda? What will you get for that - 4 steel wheels and a skinny steering wheel at Skoda prices?

If not for the A.S & S i would have defenitely opted for one, since i love the european builds. Even if the cars were more troublesome compared to H and T's of the world.

Car & A.S & S being troublesome, thats too much for me to handle.

Well, people have that same choice now. Still Octy+Laura cant match Civic sales. What makes you think that Skoda is a better brand than Toyota or Honda?

i think they should give the octavia badge to its rightful owner and bring prices to a more realistic level.
But again then VW will have to lower prices of the jetta also.
