Thats a punto active MJD with aftermarket alloys, 195/60 r15 michelin primacy and red paint plus stickers. Interiors are same but equipped with black leather seat covers.

This PUNTO SPORTS is a shocker. When did it get launched? I thought it's gonna come out of stable in the mid of this year.

Is it really Punto Sports 'coz I don't see the sunroof?

So I think the dealer is pro active and is running faster than FIAT OEM itself.. and I don't think that the dealer can fit the VGT himself even in his distant dreams.

We live in a country where a Inter City AL Bus with Air suspension = Air Bus

So we can't expect much from the manufacturers. Ford gains brownie points for the Fiesta 1.6S but they have given the Ikon Rally Sports (Alloys+stickers)

haha, well 'sportz' is just a short moniker for "dont give your money to aftermarket accessory shops, give it to me instead and il guarantee you some exlusive stuff!"

However, i do think that true sports versions have potential in India. Its upto the marketing dept to ensure that the 'low fuel efficiency conclusion' doesnt spill over to the regular model

Four pages and nobody has mentioned this abomination so far ?
with an LPG version, this was the only Sport variant which was actually *slower* than the stock version

This read provided a very good read through and il have to admit the OHC Vtec and the VRS are probably the best sport sedans(for a budget) the last decade has given us here in India.

And with Hyundai, Toyota, MS and Fiat already launching sports variants that arent sporty in any way, hope our very desi manufacturer "Ambassador" doesnt get inspired to put a similiar badge on their future models.

Lets hope for the best and pray more similar wolves in sheep's clothing dont come out to fool us.

why should we assume that sports means faster etc ?

to a lot of ordinary car buyers, a mere spoiler is a "sporty" addition.
when i had just put a FFE in my car, many people said its a "sports car " !!

all these variants are keeping in mind normal car buyers and not enthusiasts. lets not miss the context.

When you consider the case with a sports person, compared to a normal person, he/she may not only look fast, he/she performs better than an average person who plays the same sport.

So why not have the same context with cars?

The badge should not mislead you into feeling you bought something better just because it says "sports" on the rear end and comes with a heftier price tag.

This was an example from the OEMs' side now see how us Indians go ga ga over the Accord V6 - current and old generation's sporting abilities, where and when did Honda mentioned that it is a sports car but still people or owners of it brag uselessly about its drag capabilities whereas it always fell flat against the Skoda RS.
Go through the acceleration figures for the 2 cars and you'l get your answer. Stock vs stock, the 3.5 V6 Accord smokes the RS in a drag race.

So, what about Fiat Adventure Sports ? IMO, in this case, I would like to equate the 'Sports' to be the same as 'Sports' in an SUV. Not as in 'Sports' car (racing I mean).
More as a vehicle that you can use to take you to places where you can indulge in 'sports'
