500th post for 200hp octavia RS

the best way to complete 500 posts for me.

200 bhp Octavia RS unveiled

With the Skoda Octavia RS already thrilling Indian owners, Skoda Auto dug deep into the Volkswagen parts bin and unveiled a 200 bhp RS version of the Octavia.

The new Octavia is scheduled for launch in India later this year, but it is not clear whether the new screamer will hit Indian shores in the next year or not.

Until then, Indian sports car enthusiasts will have to be content with the 150 bhp (last generation) RS which is currently on sale here

hope this is the new look octavia and not the old one.

I am sure Skoda-India wouldnt be that foolish....they will launch the new shape RS with a Bang! 50 more horses and a swanky new shape!
But what caught my eye the most in that article is the new Maybach 57S .. it maybe a smaller wheel base but it is a hell of a lot sportier! Guess the Maybach is no longer the old mans chauffer driven car with its 612 bhp 6000cc V12 engine tuned by AMG! ... Potential buyers-sons of maybach 62 owners .. check out the pics...

main issue is the FSI engine and indian petrol don't go together - expect the diesels first!

As usual they might lower the compresion for India. Expect about 185-190 bhp.

185 BHP is too slurl! The current RS is very good and even if they add 30 horses it will be 180bhp and that would be good too! Also on the cards is a more powerful diesel engine for the 1.9TDI producing 106bhp as opposed to nows 90bhp!

I guess its going to get the same engine as the one which will be seen in the soon to be launched in India Audi A4 2.0 TFSI! 2000cc and 200bhp which is there in the new Octavia RS in foreign markets!

But sahil along with that we would have a 200bhp RS! Which with the help of Pyscho and Petes will belt above 340bhp! So we have a Porsche rival?

the bhp figures would be 200 and not less as these cars make more than 220 bhp in European markets.

340 is a bit unrealistic without major modifications .... but i think even if it pumps the power in the 250-280 it will be killlllerrrrr!

I was about to post that. I believe 250 is a figure that you can reach with the 200bhp RS modified.

But considering Petes RS which is originally belting out 150hp now belts out 230bhp! I think this 200bhp can just belt out 300bhp! Even Bonitos car belts out 280bhp so cant the Newer one belt out 340!

No matter which car...there are always tuning chip and stuff available. Like maybe u could beat the McLaren F1 with a tuned Skyline, Supra etc..which costs way less

When will we ever learn? Oh man, this belts out this much, that belts out that much....this is all a load of bull (not refering to busa).

First, tuners in India, buy yourself some credibility by investing in a dyno....then go about bragging horsepower numbers to everyone. Chickening out, huh?

Case in point: My question to K&N distributors in India in the thread 'Myth or Reality', stands unanswered even though these people are on the board....

Second, boyracers in India, stop being so naive and taking horsepower and other claims at face value. Gaining HP ain't that easy.
