Friends,

After some dilly-dally from my sources and lots of coaxing, I've finally managed to get the March 2010 Sales Details (with Model-wise Break-up).

Thanks

Its fine now I guess. I can see the data clearly. Looks like it was a upbeat month for everyone. Punto and Jazz might converge to same numbers. Great numbers by i10, will it pass Alto?

Yes, now it is visible. But it was not initially, it was all jumbled up. Sorry for the confusion

Can see the data now, good work karpusv.
Dzire is still selling more than Manza even though Manza IMHO is a better car.(purely my opinion)
Beetle selling more than 500! I thought that it will be other way round. It maybe because of 500's poor promotion.

holy cow! I10 inching close to alto! Just 1,000 odd units difference. Are people in India getting richer or more value is demanded at a higher price point?

The Alto seems to have taken a royal beating. 4k units down is a huge setback for Maruti in this segment, where it used to rule the roost. Wake up call for Maruti? Wonder where all those numbers went as there is not much of a change in Spark/Santro numbers (typical competitor to the Alto) when compared to the previous month.

The Estilo is doing good numbers after getting the K series treatment. The Ritz, doing close to 6k units month after month, is proving that its doomsayers are wrong. Very good numbers for a product priced almost at par with the Swift.

I guess the data is clearly throwing light as to why Maruti's A2 segment sale has fallen. Wagon R and Alto sales have decreased, probably due to the impending new engine/model launch. Therefore it is more of a supply issue and hence may be a temporary phenomenon. What is most amazing is the fantastic debut of Figo selling more than 7k which in my opinion is outstanding. I think Figo now seems to have redefined the word VFM. Congrats to Ford Management on a very smart move.

Does all indigo numbers are from MANZA or would it also contain numbers form Indigo CS?

FORD: Ikon at 372 numbers: does that mean FIGO dented IKON's(maybe FIESTA's too) sales, as atleast in february it sold 1041 numbers? M

And VOILA: Ambassador still selling 1000+ !!!

Xylo even with much advertisements and free insurances cant hold a candle to the segment leader Innova.

There's no stopping the bolero. Rural India shining?

Numbers of recently launched cars
Figo - 7210
Chevy Beat - 4499
VW Polo - 698

Figo and Beat good nos. Polo at just 698 ? or maybe real numbers will reflect in April months numbers.

No dent on Maruti's numbers for now atleast. Only dent I see is on Punto - just 956. Too bad for Punto uhh ?

Market response for Figo has been very good I guess. Three of my relatives have booked Figo D - all (relatives) sold on the fact that Figo available with Fiesta's 1.4 engine.

With new features and low-end variants one can expect i20 numbers to go up a bit from April month.

Surprised to see Nano selling only 4k odd cars. People thought Nano will just swarm the roads. Looks like roads are swarmed with only i10's and Swift's for now.

Nothing much to comment on C and C+ segment. Usual set of numbers. I hate to Dzire leading the pack. Wish someone soon launches a Dzire killer. I thought Manza would do the job, while Manza is doing well for itself, it really isnt a Dzire killer. Its huge and people wanting a compact city sedan, may not find Manza appealing. Theres no good looking compact city sedan available now. Etios sedan is the only one I see coming that can take the fight, but its not good looking. Sigh!

wow ... figo has outselled i20 and ritz and getting close to swift. With the numbers i m sure it will overcome swift numbers by next quarter. Also i m quite surprized to see indigo quite close to dezire numbers. Well done TATA.

It must have included Indigo CS as well because there is no separate mention of CS.

The premium hatch segment is rocking! The overall market expansion of about 6000+ units achieved here is amazing. Segment leaders such as Swift and Indica are still maintaining their numbers while cars such as Punto, i20 and Getz seems to have taken a beating from Figo and Polo. This explains the super quick reaction from Hyundai on the facelift and new models for i20.
