Power increased in Linea Diesel?? Yup, its now 92 BHP!

Guys

Check out the linea india site here
Fiat India

it shows linea diesel power as 93bhp?? So the new ones are more powerful eh? damn i got mine in march.(ownership report on the way). booklet says 85.

now to my question?
1. is this just a mapping change?? if so can it be done to older ones at the dealers'??

2. having an increase in power the engine should run at lower rpms?? would that translate into better milage??

Pls shed some light into this.

The dealer can't re-map it. But a supplier of maps can.

Usually with a professionally prepared map you will decrease fuel consumption.

Maybe its the re-tuned BS IV engines.

I also see that they have introduced a new shade "Tuscan Wine" for Linea. Here is the link for your reference:

I guess Tuscan Wine was already available in Linea; it's the Grande Punto who has got it recently.

Has anyone at TBHP bought one of the new, more powerful Linea's? Could you please provide a review.

And are there any reviews of the new Linea on any Indian auto magazines (OD, Autocar India etc) or on the auto magazine websites?

The engine isn't new. It is over here for six years in production. It does pull much better than the any of the other versions, but suffers from a bit of more lag.

Emission norms always bring good news . After all, they are the main reason behind common-rails becoming the norm in India. The Linea could use those 7 extra horses and I'm certain the difference is immediately perceptible.

Talk about having your cake and eating it too.
