Welcome aboard Tbhp and congrats on your new ride mate!
You are lucky to have gotten the discount plus new car with colour of your choice.. Im pretty surprised that you got a replacement in such a short spam of time.
I have just one question. Did the car have a permanent or temp registration? If it was temp, i think you should approach ford with the details and ask tem to make sure the vehicle isnt sold to an unsuspecting buyer. It probably wont make a difference to them but then you would have the satisfation of doing your part in trying to make sure noone one else ends up with a lemon..
Parking the captiva across the gate was a smart move! You instilled fear in those guys by doing so!

Cheers!

+1. I too think this is why the replacement was done swiftly without any hassles.

Possibly, but how many dealers/manufacturers would do even that in India ? Many would simply pass on the defective vehicle.

Gill, do drop in a word of appreciation at the India Ford MD corner, write2md@ford.com.

I don't think they had a choice with the vehicle dying down after start and no clue on the problem. But you are right, ford took extreme care in handling this issue and safe guarding their brand image.

Ford Endeavour had been rated as best in the JD Power survey in its category and now I know how serious are they about retaining the image. Its a great news.

Congrats! Such great news about prompt replacement is very very rare in the Indian automobile scene. You got a great deal (which was meant to be for a 2009 old stock) + a 2010 car. Best of luck offroading with your Endy

Thanks again everybody
Now for a few answers:-
The Faulty Endy had a Temp Registration which was transfered to my new white vehicle(The same number)
The insurance cover note was also rectified and the chassis and engine number changed with the new vehicle.
Even after a month the silver endy could not be repaired and was made a display vehicle, parked inside the showroom,
When i went in for the first service of my vehicle, the service adviser told me that ford is sending a brand new engine for the silver endy and that would be changed and only then would the vehicle be sold.
The guy who performed PDI on the silver vehicle before delivering it to me told that the vehicle was performing OK before it was delivered to me, the problem the diagnosed was with the injectors, they died down after reaching a certain temoerature

Glad to hear there are not many followers for Skoda in the Indian market.

Enjoy your vehicle. It is criminal to not post pictures now .

This is too good to be true. Frankly, I didn't believe this when I was reading this for the 1st time. I though you are someone who is Ford's payroll. If they (ford) keep their image like this, I am sure they are going to rule the market pretty soon.

Congrats on the White Endeavour.

Destiny was that you had to get the white one, albeit at a days cost and few skips of your heart beat. At the end All is Well.

Do post some pictures.
