I believe the New RAV 4 would have been an ideal for India (local made) We are not that fat afterall.

For economic reasons, they probabaly wanted something that shares platform with Innova, hence the Fortuner, and Hilux.

That red number plate is a Nepalese number plate. Hiluxes are really popular in Nepal.

Must've been quite a drive

This IS Hilux (Ford Endeavour??)

i think thats a NEPALI registered Hilux as the plate says so. its not a test mule.

indian test plates of red has black lettering on it. the NEPALI registration has white on red with HINDI alphabets and not english!

Saw one here today in red.

Though it looked brand new but it's number plate had left me confused until I read this thread. It was a Nepal registered one & had a number very similar to this one here http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attach...d-dsc00134.jpg

Re: SPOTTED !!! Toyota Hilux -- on Fortuner lines

Hey guys,

I was planning to buy a pick up, selected a Xenon but the engine for BS4 2016 model has been downgraded to 85bhp. Moreover the dealer misled me to believe that its 112bhp.
Now that i have changed my mind, any updates on Hilux launch?

IIR, The Xenon double cab has two versions. A utility model with 85bhp from the 3.0l (Sumo Gold tune) and the Luxury version in 112bhp (old Safari dicor tune).
Not sure about the BS4 part as the 85bhp version will be BS4 compliant since its in the Sumo Gold too, whereas the 112bhp version is only there in the Xenon now, so good chance that it could be phased out, however highly stupid the decision seems.

Regarding the Hilux launch, guess it will be a futile wait as none of the big companies are willing to 'sully' their image by launching commercial vehicles here.

But the closest thing would be the new 2016 Isuzu Dmax Vcross, so why not check that out when its launched sometime this year.
