And no ABS on the limited edition model?? All indian companies are similar in one way.

They make sure to goof up a good product -- and always with the wrong combination of features ! call it talent !

I would love the limited edition to come in with the top ends -- so whoever is willing to pay all that extra will get all those extra goodies as well! WIN - WIN situation.

PS: I think they should make it mandate to have rear-wash-wipe in all top end models. I sorely miss it during my rainy drives.

i think this ones to hit the Figo TDCi ZXI market. If someone thinks of going with Figo then with this offer he might just give Ritz Limited a thought as he is getting the same features in both the cars. The only advantage customers will get is the Maruti A.S.S !

Genus model costs 30 k over Figo Zxi, and still lacks:
e-OVRM
Bluetooth
Figo music system is of reasonable quality, unlike Ritz
Better handling and ride on Figo
Better brakes
Better tires
Better visibility

The only areas Ritz scores is the support.

Not true. The Ritz has several other advantages:

- A product that's way more modern than the Figo
- More powerful engine, and better overall performance
- Way better highway pep
- Practicality. Easier ingress & egress
- The Ritz has proven to be an extremely reliable car. Fact is, its more hassle-free to own than the Swift too
- Cost cutting isn't as obvious as it is in the Figo

Then, as the two of you mentioned, the Ritz also gets Maruti's after-sales and strong resale values.

I completely second that. Also rear power windows come standard in the ritz vxi/vdi (leave alone the zxi), something even the top of the line figo titanium has to do without!

cheers

I completely third that! The Ritz is a very understated car. I mean most of the people go on the looks of the car and come back disappointed. But appearances are deceptive & once you step into the car, its a totally different world and interior space is in a league of its own. It also instantly changes your perception about the car.

Instead of cosmetic changes however; I would have preferred that they put in more safety features such as ABS and airbags as standard.

Absolutely true !

The current offers on the Ritz and a little bit of added bargain will get you the side mouldings and a basic remote locking system. So the only significant things missing would be the ICE, adjustable steering and blue interiors. Decal anyways is not that pretty.

So it would be much wiser for anyone to choose the VXI ABS over the Genus. If on a budget, then the ICE can be added later but even the most basic of the after market ICEs would parallel the OEM one in terms of SQ. So that would be a safer car at marginal extra cost.

Not bad i would say. This is above the VXi and offers quite a few useful features compared to VXi.

The rear wiper is sorely missed on the Vxi cause of the vertical glass on the Ritz. This has it and some other features so it's like in between VXi and ZXi.

You'd still be without the rear wipers and defogger, which make a lot of sense in the monsoon season.

I had the same conundrum while finalizing the Genus VXi a few days back, but the added accessories such as the rear wiper, steering wheel adjustment and the keyless entry make an unbeatable package, and that too at about 20k more than the VXi variant.
