That's not TypeII. Looks like DDIS to me.

What's confusing is.
This car is a LHD.
The Swift behind it is a RHD.
The Swift with a person sitting inside, also seems to be LHD.

Where is this snap taken? In which market would you have both LHD and RHD models on display?

Australia ? (Gold Coast??)

Its A Photoshopped Swift!!

Just do a google image search for "Swift Sedan". The 3rd picture shows what it can be like. Not a car i would fancy but i feel it might do well at our place.

When a Sedan is created from a hatchback, there must be some difference in the wheels distance right?

Not always. Siena/Petra had the same wheelbase as the Palio.

I think its photoshopped.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo... its photo shopped !!! :)

Looks to me like a clear case of a Photoshopped image.
There is absolutely NO way this can be the Swift sedan.

IMO, the SX4 was supposed to be the Swift sedan.

I think it would not be out of place to refer to the earlier posts from smartmundu:

i have seen around 10 vehicles near Maruti Manesar Plant many of them are covered but 2-3 are not i don't know why they forget to cover those vehicles...i don't have camera at that time so missed the oppurtunity to take the snaps

But surly try to get one as soon as possible....

Man Swift sedan is awesome... i will try to get the pics but believe me guys it is one of the best Notchbacks i have ever seen

Name is the new vehicle is Swift Dzire.... it rocks man

The car we see here looks more like a booted saloon than a notchback. So may be, the pic is a photoshop.

have a look at the c-pillar. the door shape in the swift hatch is coming towards the front whereas here it's goin back like a traditional sedan.

If it's a PS it's a mighty good one but the car looks yuck.

yes yes! i noticed the same thing!

Could it be the Tokyo Auto show?

Yuk. If they have to add more space, why can't they make it like the mini clubman?

that image is photshopped

On the numberplate it is written swift not swift sedan or Swift dzire

If it was a real pic then there had to be a different name for the vehicle

Why should there be a different name for the vehicle?

Mature markets don't get carried away by a change of name within the same market: Verna/Accent, Laura/Octavia, Alto/800/Alto.

These manufacturers used market positioning to charge India more for the same wine in a new bottle.

SX4 on indian roads is indeed a sedan version of SX4 hatch overseas..IMO it shows up in the design as well..disproportionate in quite a few areas1

What would the ugly thing look like with a dikky appended?
We exercised our imaginations. How much off reality, were we?

And to think, Maruti would someday pull "this" stuff out of their bag -- cut to wide-angle lens shots on hoardings with slickly written copy, and in spin-doctored reviews in the news-stand glossies, canvassed by the flavor-of-the-month Bollywood hero.

"Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest of us all?"
"Swift, you are full fair, but 'tis true, the competition fairer, is than you."
