To me, this is Great news!! If Fiat fixed their after sales service, I will never buy a non-fiat car.

Its high time they come up with it, and if they can manage a A.S.S better than the T.A.S.S, they can go a long way!!

Perhaps they were waiting for the company to turn profitable? Fiat has made a profit of 22 crores for the first quarter against Rs 166 crore loss for the corresponding period a year ago.

But building a solid sales/support network is not easy for them for several reasons.

IMO, Tata should launch a premium vehicle network that will support/sell their premium cars viz. the Aria, the new Safari and Fiat vehicles only. Thus the "premium Tata" owners can expect some premium treatment and we the Fiat owners get our cars serviced in a place where mere standing space is not a premium.

Similar story was in the news a few weeks ago which triggered a separate thread and that was closed down by mods since there was absolutely no statements from both companies. I guess this thread will meet the same fate unless this is the latest breaking news.

IMO, its just not that easy to break a JV and go solo. Lots of things at stake. Even if there is intention (hope there is), FIAT are a long way off to command their own dealerships/showrooms.

This was discussed just a few weeks back and it turned out to be a rumor. Unless this is confirmed from official sources, locking this thread
