Koenigsegg Agera: Coming to India.

Swedish supercar manufacturer Koenigsegg is going to bring its latest hypercar, the Agera, to India.
The name Agera comes from the Swedish verb ‘to act’, and Koenigsegg is acting fast to get its latest model to India in early 2011 soon after its international launch. Fast cars and Indian roads are a mismatch but a long list of supercar makers want to bring their cars to India.
Not just a fascination for speed will do though; you’d also need a bank account with more zeroes than your phone number because the car will cost approximately Rs 9.60 crore when it goes on sale.
The mid-engined 4.7-litre aluminium V8 with twin-turbo superchargers develops a colossal 910bhp and a max torque of 112kgm at 5100rpm. Impressive acceleration figures of 3.1 seconds to the 100kph mark, 200kph in 8.9sec and an estimated top speed of 390kph sends this 1290kg beast bang into Veyron territory!
The company has developed a new kind of interior illumination called ‘ghost light’ that uses invisible nano tubes to increase the visibility of the instrument cluster.
Only 16-20 cars will be built every year and Koenigsegg has already begun to take orders since the Geneva Motor Show in March 2010.

Well well, how far is the day when we see an Agera and a Veyron revving hard at each other at a red signal on Marine Drive ???? LOL.
These players coming into India by the dozen now !

Can the Agera and a Veyron survive on the indian roads? I mean after 2 speed breakers and a few potholes these cars would be stripped down to there skeletel versions.
Does it make sense for Koenigsegg to bring the agera to India.Busines wise as well as with a practical viewpoint I don't think this makes sense.

First BUGATTI , then KOENISEGG , what next , a SSC Ultimate Aero ?
I suspect these cars would end up as collectors edition than being seen on the roads !

The aero was supposed to come a while ago anyways. I guess they called that off.

I guess the owners will need to shell out extra bucks to build a track in their backyard! All the best driving it on Indian roads!

Koenigsegg coming to India!

After Lamborghini and Bugatti, yet another world-class hyper-car marque is all set to scorch the Indian roads. Here comes Koenigsegg!

Koenigsegg coming to India!

Quote:
BS Motoring:
Swedish super sports car maker Koenigsegg Automotive AB has joined hands with Rahul Bhatia-promoted InterGlobe Enterprises to launch a range of high-end, high-performance models in India.
Koenigsegg, known for its big engines, unfamiliar designs and styling under its own brand, will launch the Agera, which carries a sticker price of Rs 9.6-10 crore, next month in Hyderabad.
The supercar maker’s ride into India will be managed by Delhi-based InterGlobe Enterprise, which also promotes low-cost carrier IndiGo under the InterGlobe Aviation banner. An announcement to this effect is expected next month, said industry sources.
A spokesperson for InterGlobe declined to comment on the development when contacted via email. Koenigsegg will be among the last few globally renowned automotive brands to make an official entry into India. Rivals such as Bentley, Bugati and Lamborghini (all owned by Volkswagen), Porsche and Rolls Royce have already launched sales in India.

Re: Koenigsegg Agera: Coming to India.

Correct me if I'm wrong - Agera, planned to be launched in India is a V8, about 900 bhp.
They will have to tweak it a bit though, like higher ground clearance?

Re: Koenigsegg Agera: Coming to India.

Well this will be by far, the supercar going to have the toughest time on our roads! The GC is so low that I can't imagine how is it going to go even over the smallest speed bumps. A great hypercar nonetheless. But 0-100kph in 3.1 secs is what even the Nissan GT-R does for 10 times lesser money

Well, India is certainly home for so many rich people that I am sure Koenigsegg will find some takers of this speed demon!

Just a correction, Agera has twin turbo setup, not twin superchargers or the mess mentioned in the quote!

+1. Wonder where are the roads to drive such beauties in India.
At times driving even an alto/nano can be an uphill task.

Oh, I am sure there are some stretches where you can have drive Agera nicely, but taking the car upto those stretches will be a task by itself...

Re: Koenigsegg Agera: Coming to India.

Maybe Koenigsegg should give a ' complementary ' flat bed , to carry Agera to places where it can be driven !

or a large sack to carry it back home in pieces after Koenigsegg meets 'humped ahead'.
