One of my close friends is looking out for a pre owned petrol sedan.
I suggested him to look for either AVEO or Fiesta Classic reason being very poor resale which translates into excellent pre owned deal.
If we cap upto 3 year old model, about 20-30k km run, how much max could the cost? Can he expect it around 3.5 Lac?
Any specific issues with AVEO?
To give an idea, we talked to an owner wanting to sell his 2008 1.4 LT ABS for 5Lac negotiable which I thought was way too much.
what should be the price of a 8 month old skoda laura 1.8 TSI ambiente driven for 5100 kms?

My Cousin's 08' immaculately maintained Aveo(done about 23K) was sold for 2.85.
Mind you, the car had custom Leather seats, alloys etc..
Reason for sale - He upgraded to Laura.
The car never had an issue and he was very happy with it (baring the sluggish performance)

Do not go by the quotes you see in the papers or what the dealers tell you when you go to buy a car. Get your car evaluated by Hyundai used car section and add 20k to that price, if you get that you should be very happy. I'd say 3-3.10 L would be appropriate for your car, if there is this unusual demand for i10s.

Around 11L (give or take 20-25k) should be a good price.

All the additions you mentioned do not impact resale value by much. I would expect around 3.5 Lacs

Even though accessories don't add much to resale value I think 3.5L is too less for Ritz top model diesel and that too in Bangalore. I would say around 4.5L would be a fair price.

Why don't you ask him what he expects?
If you get it at around 6.5-6.75 , it would be a good deal
My colleague is looking for a used car and found out from his friend that a 2009 (or 2008) Swift VDi (ABS) which has covered 60K kms is available which is maintained by a doctor. He has not yet inquired about the price and will be doing the same next weekend as he is out of the town. What would be the ideal price for this car?
What would be the cost of a Santro xing 2007 Xl model?
The car had done 60k kms and gives a FE of 14. Also, on the exterior there are some dents and that would cost around 20K for repairs.
What could be the expected sale price?

Hi Sindbad,

Ajo
hi.. ive put up my 2006 Skoda Laura L&K for sale. its a manual transmission & delhi registered. would i be justified in asking for 7L for the car?
@duke - to know that for sure why don't you get the car evaluated at some reputed used car dealers - say Mahindra first choice or some other good car dealers in your locality. You will get a very good idea that way. You can then quote around 5% over the average valuation that you received. I think you will receive valuations in 5.75 to 6L range.
Be prepared for some pain though. Skodas - esp. high mileage ones - have terrible resales - as a fellow owner I am all too painfully aware of that.
