Thanks Srinivas. But B'lore is a different game. 3L+ roadtax for Cruze converts to much higher used car prices here.

and 08/2004 White Santro Xing XP with 92k on Odo (reasonably well maintained but engine is easily better than some newer cars(Xings) I have driven)

I believe you are referring to a 2003/04 Santro Xing with 92k kms on the odo... which could be had for INR 80k-100k, if buying from first owner. But, if it is an eRlx engine try to rate it little lower, reason not being the engine, but, marginal decline in materials (body sheet, interior trim, etc.), used over the Xings launched in 2003. This is my personal experience, as I have got a 2003 Xing XG & my cousins have got later Xings XG/ XP.

Regarding the engine, I believe you can easily run the car for another 92k with regular repairs at FNG, which won't pinch your pocket as well.

Hence decided to go for a used Cruze AT as a stop gap.

Hello HG,
12+ is too high for a used Cruze AT. AT cars are not in demand, so resale values are lower. Consideing it's Bangalore, the max I would pay is 11.5L

P.S - If you are buying a car as "stop-gap arrangement",I suggest not to invest 11.5-12L now, How about a used Fluidic Verna AT. It'll be much cheaper to buy & you will lose that much less when you sell it!! A win-win situation.
Think about it!!

Varun

Hello DK,
09/2011 Swift Dzire VDi with 20k - Around 4.75-5L if sold to dealer & around 5.25-5.5L if sold to an individual

08/2004 White Santro Xing XP with 92k - Around 0.60-0.80L, max 1L.

Hello VR,
I'm not too aware of TVM prices, but I guess a fair price for your car should be around 5.25-5.5L.

Thanks for the quick reply akshay. Atleast i have some idea of price now. I heard they are expecting around 2.5 L for it.
The location is indeed chandigarh.

Since the model is out of production, is it sensible to buy it. will maintenance be difficult wrt cost and availability of parts etc.

I'm looking at a white 2011 VW Vento Petrol Highline done 22,000 KMs. While the asking price which is 7,5 seems alright (assuming he's come down to 7l after negotiation), carwale's used car valuator recommends 6.2l. Any suggestions? Also, any insight into the VW dealership experience would be great!

Mine being a 2010 Exi Petrol was rated at just 2.5l.

The swift is gone t 3.45 lks:Shockked:.

Figo is still available, but the owner is not willing to come below 3.3 lks. Inspected the vehicle and seems to be in decent condition. The only issue that I found was that the paint near the boot seems to be whitish (on the black figo)

Is this a known issue with figo? remember looking at some bad paint quality issues noted on the forum, were there a lot of figo caes?

I don't know about the whitish part but my cars paint chips off easily from the edge's of doors when its hit on a wall.
3.3 seems decent since the ZXI sold at around 5.4 when new. The price i quoted for my car was by evaluators at show rooms. So outside price can be increased around 20-30k

Regards

^^^
My mistake,

ZXI Figo Petrol sold a 4.95l in 2010. It was Titanium that sold at 5.4l in 2010.

I had been to a used car dealer and was checking prices of premium used cars And got the following information.
2010 Benz E250D 19000kms for 25L
2009 Q3 3.0L tdi, 55000kms for 26L
2011 Fortuner 30000kms for 19L.

From the above I think the Q3 is available for a good price. Declining new car sales have had an impact on the user car division. I have a 2011 vento TDi HL 28000km for which i placed an advertisement in a leading newspaper not a single soul even came to see the vehicle. Market seems to be flat.

On a lighter note!

Optimism is good, but I think this dude is the heights!!

There was no Q3 available in 2009. It must be either Q5 or Q7, most probably Q5.
