I would think twice if it was me.

On a different note, what will be a fair price to pay for Sep 2012 Laura TSI Ambiente done about 39K and with full service history.

The fact that GM has left has made the Cruze depreciate alot and at it's current used price there is no other car that offers the same level of power, features and size.
Also I have an authorized service centre near my house that is still open for the next two years.
The Cruze is also not going to be the primary vehicle at my house so a little waiting for parts is fine and I anyways wanted to maintain the car myself and take help at an FNG.I believe the parts availability shouldn't be a big problem as the Cruze was a global model as well.

We are considering to buy a Nov 2013 Mercedes B-Class B180 Sports. It has run about 42,000km. We have known the owners for long and are assured of the clean history.
What should be the fair price? The location is Noida. we are aware of the Dismal fuel efficiency of the petrol engine but We are not keen on buying a used diesel because of the 10yr rule in Delhi NCR.

We currently have got the car with us for a few days on a trial basis. Is there anything specific we should check for or be aware of in this model before we finalize on the deal.
Thanks.

Hi Guys,

How much should a Dec 2014 City VX CVT Sunroof with 45000 kms on the ODO go for? The car is white in colour and had perfect body-line with no major visible scratches.

The car has the following aftermarket Accessories
- 195 55 R15 MRF Perfinza tyres with less than 1000 usage (city OEM fitment is 175 65 R15)
- Black Interiors (Leather Seat covers and floor lamination, OEM fitment is beige which is available below the after market covers)
- Garware 70% Sun protection film (no OEM fitment)
- 7 Inch Map my India system (No touch screen in OEM model)

I think 7L would be a good price for a City of this vintage. How much is the dealer quoting? I can see a City listed on CarWale which is similar to the one you saw around 7.25L. Listing here...

What should I expect for my 2008 Innova 2.5 V 7-seater, very good condition, minimal scratches /no dents, 135000kms?
And how much more should I expect if I sell to individual?

Havent been dealers yet. But have a few first level offers for 6.5 lakhs. Which I think is very low for the car in impeccable condition.

A close friend bought a used Honda City (same model similar vintage) with pretty similar mileage figures in Pune for 6.4L last year. So anywhere between 6.5L to 7L should be fair IMO.

Recently I was having a discussion with a friend who is also a petrol head and we had some interesting finds.

Laura TSI was discontinued in early 2013 and was replaced by Octavia TSI which was marginally higher priced as new. Octavia TSI had slightly better kit on like to like to basis like a better music system, sunroof et al. Laura TSI is a Manual whereas the Octavia 1.8TSI is a AT with DSG.

However in the used car market, these cars of similar vintage, like 2013 Laura TSI Ambiente goes for around 4.5L whereas 2013 Octy 1.8TSI is about 8.5L atleast. This is a data based on some basic research on OLX.

Any ideas and thoughts around this?

Mumbai rates are typically lower than Pune or other MH cities. There is atleast 10-15% difference in prices between Mumbai and Pune. So do check that.

Laura being a discontinued model, is more than likely to depreciate. Octavia in fact has become a stronger brand.

So you are saying that with generation change, the models are going to depreciate faster. So overall Octavia Mk3 will get a higher depreciation on the resale market once Octavia Mk4 is launched which is sometime in 2020.

This is usually correct unless for larger than life models like Zen which will always be exceptions to the rule.

Hi fellow members, would love your opinion on your something. I'm considering buying a XUV 500 from an acquaintance of mine who recently accepted a very lucrative job offer abroad. It's a W10 AWD auto bought in 2018 October to be precise. It's just got 9000 on the odo. He's come down to a final price of 20.5 lakhs with little scope of negotiation. Do you guys think it's a good deal ?

My asking price would be a lakh cheaper at 19.5 Lakhs which is around 85% of on-road price of 23.2 lakhs in Cochin (Location is my assumption).

W10 or W11 ? The all new plush XUV only came with odd numbers(W9, W11 etc) Please confirm if this is not the older XUV being bought much later at a discount. You might be able to bargain much more

Thank you so much ! I needed a ball park figure to put in a reasonable quote. And from the looks of it the XUV will take a 60-65% depreciation hit after 4-5 years of ownership if I'm not wrong. And yes about the location, spot on !
