What price can I expect for my 2015 Toyota Fortuner
Mileage:38k
Location:Hyderabad
Engine: 3.0 D4D
Transmission: 4x2
Color: White
Hello bhpians,
Request your support in purchasing a Baleno for my wifey as second car in our house.
It's 2017 Zeta model Baleno in Hyderabad with 47k on odo. The car is with complete service history and insurance with 0 claims. There are couple of scratches and dents on front and back bumpers but nothing major. Tyres might run for 7-10k more.
Seller is expecting 6.5 lakhs, might give at 6.3. Is it worth purchasing at that price?
Please help me with this buying decision.
I'm on the lookout for a CSUV below 6 lakhs and below are my considerations and my concerns,
Renault Duster
Pros
+Proven vehicle
+Lots of space and best driveability to date in the segment
+Renault India still exists and parts availability will not be an issue
Cons
-Due to the face value, difficult to find a genuinely priced car
-To my budget, the model will be around 2013-2015 max with around 50k to 100k Odo
Nissan Terrano
Pros
+All Pros of Duster including the part availability as both shares the same parts except the exterior panels
+Lesser price when compared to Duster
Cons
-110PS are easily available at affordable rates and the car is nicely loaded with features,
But is it because of the famous injector issues?
Ford Ecosport
Pros
+Ford assurance in the quality
+A well sorted sub-4m csuv with enough features
+Service cost will be lesser than of the Duster twins
+Can get a 2015+ model in a similar budget
Cons
-Poor interior space as I'm upgrading from an AVEO-UVA
-Stiffer ride & ingress issues for the rear seats
-I find it as a bigger hatchback with SUV clothes when compared to the Duster twins
I'm almost zeroed on a few Terrano's and one 110PS is a very sweet deal ( 70k Odo, 2014 model), but very hesitant after seeing the injector failure threads related to the same engine.
Whats your opinion ? Is there any other options should I consider?

Hello Experts,
I've deliberated buying a car for a long time, but COVID has turned my wish into a necessity.
I'm hoping to hear your suggestions on a used car in the 2-3L budget in Chennai.
Additional Information:
It's been a decade since I got my driving license, but I never drove a car after that. So I would use this car to (re)learn driving.
I would be traveling between Bengaluru and Chennai (At least 12 trips a year).
I plan to use it for 3-4 years (Would be happier if it lasts longer without being too costly on the maintenance front :)).
What cars can I consider?

Hi, Welcome to the Forum!
The cars that come to my mind when you say that you will be (re)learning driving are cheap, easy to maintain hatches. The simplest choices are any of the Altos or even a Nano. However, if you could be a bit more specific about your feature & safety requirements or post a thread in the What Car? section, I'm pretty sure you'll get many more answers.
Does 3.5 Lakhs for a 2018 Alto K10 with 16K on the odo sound like a decent deal? It's from Mahindra First Choice, so I'm expecting a slight premium.
Hello Experts,
I received details of a VW Vento from a family friend who knows a dealer.
Fuel: Petrol
Variant: Trendline
Make year: 2012 (Although registration date is May-2011 in Vaahan portal)
Owner: Second owner
City: Chennai
Cost: 3L
Is this worth proceeding?
I don't want to get stuck with a high maintenance car.

I am no expert, but do not think buying a big car that too a high maintenance VW Vento is a good option.
Since you are learning to drive and want a cheap car I would suggest to stick to small cars with an automatic gearbox like Alto K10, Nano, Tiago. There is no point in trying and mastering the manual cars when plenty of ATs are available in New and used markets, unless you are a driving enthusiast.
Thanks SKC-Auto, i've declined the offer for Vento.
I have another offer for Ford Ecosport 1.5
Fuel: Diesel
Variant: Titanium
Make year: 2014
Owner: First owner
Odometer: 86000 km
City: Chennai
Cost: 4.25L
Is the price reasonable? Any factors to consider in this model?

Friends,
Eyeing on a jeep compass sport 2017 4X2 diesel model ( steel rims) done 82000 kms. Whats the best price to offer? Dealer is quoting 11L. Yet to physically inspect the vehicle.
Goodies : new tires are fitted and 2000 kms done.
Also, is it advisable to go for such a high mileage specimen?
Thanks in advance!!!

Finding a well maintained diesel itself could be rather difficult and if you are getting a well maintained Terrano in good condition from a known person - just go for it. If the injectors have been good for 70k they probably are just fine. Even if they went kaput in future, they can be repaired.
Both are good cars. Cant go wrong with either.
110 has really long legs and is absolute fun on the highways - even with a full load it pulls seamlessly even in higher gears. Its spacious albeit with dated interiors and comes with a magic carpet!
