Guys,
Found a PAJERO SFX. Asking price is 5.0 Lakhs (2008, 108000 kms run)
Does it even make any sense to buy a Pajero SFX in today's world? |
The price is way too high for a 2008 model. Should be closer to 3.3-3.5.
Pajero SFX only makes sense if you get it at a reasonable price(4-4.75) for a 2011/2012(max) model in top shape.

Hello,
What would be a fair price to offer for a 2019 Toyota Fortuner, done 20K Kms, 4x4 AT, Single Owner in Chennai. |
35 is too high for this car, 32 is the max price you can offer. Else go for a new one, or go for a new Endeavour.

The car looks clean and its with a dealer. The dealer is asking 35 Lakhs for the car.
Does it make sense to pay so much and go for an used car or might as well stretch a bit more and go for a new one. |
I guess they will come down to 30-32L, if you push them for closure. Keep looking for direct deals where you can easily save 10-15%, but time consuming one.

Thanks for your reply. I found a XUV500 W10 (in the classifieds) from 2017 with asking price less than 16L. The odo is less than 15000 KM. Is this too good to be true? |
Do check the complete service records, not just the last service odometer reading entered at authorised service station.
One of the many tricks, dealers (not all) do, is to alter the mileage in odometer & send the vehicle for service or some small repair job, where the current reading in odometer is entered. Should be under warranty & 15K is like a new XUV.
Car: Honda Civic
Year: 2012
ODO: 20000
Variant: V
Transmission: Manual
No.of owners: 2
Location: Kerala
Asking price: 4.9 Lakhs
Asking price is high and I am thinking offering 4L for the same. What is the fair price for the same?
Thanks in advance.

Not really an expert but with whatever little I know, I'll ask you to avoid.
20k kms for a 9 year old 2nd owner car: suspect.
4.9l that too for a manual? That too second owner? Too much!
Buying this car will make you the 3rd owner, prepare to drive this to the junkyard. Resale value will be worse.
If you want to still consider, offer 2.5l
To give you some perspective;
I'm a second owner of a 2006 Honda city CVT which I purchased for 180k in 2015. Cars 24 offered me 52k in 2019 rl:
I purchased with 98k on the odo from the owner directly. Now it has 143k on the odo. Issues? Rust!
Hope this helps.
What be a right price for the below car
Car: Honda city VX Diesel
Year: 2017
Owner: Single
Kms: 46k (Approx 40k) driven in highway
Accident history: Some panels have been repainted sure to scratches
Service history: Maintained at HASS by leading company
Insurance: Expires in October
Still running on stock company tires
Car has been on lease from Orix and the owner has mentioned that the lease period is over and he has cleared the remaining amount. Waiting for NOC and that it can be directly transferred to third party. Any thing that i need to be mindful of?
Car: VW Jetta TDI AT Highline
Year: July 2015
Owner: Single
Kms: 21k
What would be the right price to pay for this?
Car: VW Jetta TDI AT Highline
Year: 2015 (pre facelift)
Owner: Single
Kms: 57k
Registration - Bangalore
Car is clean, serviced at authorized service center, mostly driver by the lady for office commute and the owner is known to a close friend.
I am looking at it as an interim upgrade from my Rapid 1.6 TDI.
Please advice on the right price for this.

Is that the one which is quoted 12L & Dr owned?? Have seen that ad & looks like a clean car with records. Here in TN it would be easily fetch 12-14L given the low mileage and service records. I guess GJ market is not like WB or MH & would fetch better resale. Offer him realistically & close that deal. Its rare to find a well maintained low mileage Jetta

What is the price quoted for this by the seller?? Prices in Bangalore used car market are high
OMG, there is suddenly a demand spike = better resale for Jettas :D we should thank VAG for not bringing in the 2.0 TDI torquey mileage king!
For your ref. I recently sold my immaculate 58K KM's done 2014 Comfortline in BLR for 9.75L, the Highline Auto was ~3L more to buy new, so do the math...
Mine was a manual and a highway rider while the DSG can heat up and feels jerky in traffic so that's something to watch out far in that BLR example although I would have preferred the facelifted version although cosmetic exterior (no change interior) but it does feel nice and relatively modern ala A4. It will definitely feel a worthy upgrade to the ageing Rapid.
The GuJju one is a virgin at 21K clicks but investigate why run so less - rusting, flooding, DSG issues or accidental?

He hasn't quoted anything yet. Next month he will go for a BMW and I have offered to pay him a little more than what BMW dealer offers him (as long as I like the car).

7-8 lakhs for me. Anything beyond that will be too high.
What is the ideal price for 2018 2.8 ZX AT Innova Crysta (BS IV)- 1st owner - 30K kms ?
What would be a good price for this car:
Volvo V90 Cross Country, 2017.
60k kms run.
KA registration.
Dealer is quoting about 40L. He says it is dealer maintained throughout, and it should be possible to get extended warranty. Does it make sense to buy a high mileage vehicle like this one?
Is 3.8 lakhs a fair price for DL registered 2015 Oct Ford Aspire (1.2 Trend Petrol).
The car is in good condition. No accidents. Serviced at Ford. 33000 kms done.
