Buying a Swift

Mitra is not good...the front panel of the Baleno has a hidden screw to hold it in place...the place where I got my cd player fitted forgot to fit it back and also forgot that it existed.
On the way to the office the panel came off in a jerk, takin out the stereo surround trim with it..since Mitra was on the way...took the car there and the mechanic over there pasted the panel back with Araldite instead of putting the screw back...since he did not know that it existed....in the process I ended up having a few araldite "stretch marks" on my car...the missing screw was finally identified and replaced by Varun in the second service

On road price was 6.53L including life tax, insurance, extended warrenty, (dealer discount 50K, corporate 10K, special gift cheque for 12K ) on the whole i paid 5.81 on road, if i had taken Balck i would've got another 10K discount, i think that 12K was the year end offer.

5.81 on road is an excellent price. Makes me want to buy a Baleno LXi instead of the Swift ZXi, considering the minimal price difference. I've driven Buffetfan's Baleno and loved its performance.

My mom isn't comfortable with the idea of driving a sedan which she perceives as a large car which is why I was looking only at hatches. Her concerns are centered around ease of parking besides driving in unruly Hyderabad traffic. Perhaps I can convince her to test drive the Baleno and figure things out from there.

Edit: Is there a finance discount incorporated in there somewhere?

there is no finance discount in that, showroom people said 9.5% to 8% but i got that done outside through HDFC for 6.5% diminishing, you wont feel like you are driving a big car it is so comfy, try convince her to take a test drive atleast.
