re: Nanoli Speedway Race Track, on the outskirts of Pune!

If anyone interested about the location, the site is behind the Nanoli Stud Farms, just off the Mumbai - Pune highway in Kamshet.

I have marked it in red. Google Map link

I guess this will only become reality by 2022 or so. Time to start saving for that naked / sports bike.

re: Nanoli Speedway Race Track, on the outskirts of Pune!

The Nanoli Speedway is proposed to be 2.928 km long and is being designed by UK based Driven International with inputs from former F1 driver Karun Chandok. According to data based on a Jaguar F-Type simulation, the average speed achieved was 123kmph along with a top speed of 222kmph. The longest straight is 801m long while the track will have asphalt and grass run-off areas.

There will also be a ‘4X4 and Off-road centre’ with a comprehensive range of terrains and man made obstacles. It will feature axle bumps, rock runs, twisting roads, gravel hills, ditches and different types of dirt trails.

The Nanoli Speedway will be the 4th major racetrack in India after the BIC, MMRT and Kari Motor Speedway.

Re: Nanoli Speedway Race Track, on the outskirts of Pune!

Oh my god, this is the best news I heard all year . Am already dreaming about taking a test-drive car to this track for some high-speed cornering & racing. We anyway go so often to Lonavla & Pune. For the longest time, those from the North & South have had all the luck. No longer.

Who is backing this? Better be a Mr. Moneybags with no concern for ROI. Race tracks survive on passion, not a P&L statement.

I am not getting excited just yet. However, if this does see the light of day it will be absolutely amazing. Bombay is home to so many good cars and has practically been begging for a racetrack.

I believe it is the same Dhunjibhoy family who own the stud farm. Like you said I'm hoping they have deep enough pockets to forget their investment or some ancillary plan to make this commercially viable for them.

Their website suggests that there already something along the lines of a resort or country club attached to their stud farm. They are probably going to try to raise a bit of capital through the membership route.

I forgot to add earlier. Drive International is also upgrading the Kari Motorway to FIA (series 3?) standards.

Re: Three new race tracks coming up in India!

More details about the Nanoli Speedway, the newest race track being developed in India

Nanoli Speedway will feature two long straights and 12 turns. Multiple track configurations planned. 4x4 and off-road centre in the works too.

Quote:
Nanoli Speedway configurations
The track’s owners are aiming for it to host multiple configurations. The “Speed Circuit” configuration will be 2.788km long and feature 14 turns. Meanwhile, the track can also be divided into shorter West (1.425km) and East (1.463km) configurations, featuring seven and eight turns, respectively.

By when will the Nanoli Speedway be ready?
The track layout has already received approval from the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) as well as from motorsport’s international governing body, the FIA. The racetrack’s completion is some time away, however, the owners are aiming to have it ready by late-2021.

The track is currently FIA Grade 3 approved, but it will only be able to secure an FIA licence once the track is completely built and its careful assessment has been completed.

Nanoli Speedway set to be India’s newest racetrack

New FIA approved racetrack just an hour away from Pune is set to be a hub of motorsports on a national level.

Track junkies and motorsport enthusiasts in and around Pune and Mumbai are in for a treat. Nanoli Speedway is set to be India’s newest racetrack that’s coming up on the outskirts of Mumbai-Pune expressway. It is FIA approved and is designed by UK based Driven International and former F1 racer Karun Chandok. Driven International is a globally renowned firm with expertise in track design and architecture of sports, leisure and driving venues.

The track will be 2.928km long, sporting as many as 12 corners. For perspective, MMRT and Kari Motor Speedway are 3.7km and 2.1km in length, respectively. According to data based on a Jaguar F-Type simulation, the average speed achieved was 123kmph along with a top speed of 222kmph. The longest straight is 801m long while the track will have asphalt and grass run-off areas. Moreover, the track can be split into three configurations — first is the 2.928km full length circuit, second is the 2.788km Speed Circuit while the third configuration is of split type comprising West and East Circuits where two racing events can be held simultaneously.

That said, there will also be a ‘4X4 and Off-road centre’ with a comprehensive range of terrains and man made obstacles. It will feature axle bumps, rock runs, twisting roads, gravel hills, ditches and different types of dirt trails. Additionally there will be a multi-purpose facility with garages that serve track users as well as a multi-use space on the first floor for a restaurant, hospitality area and a ‘Members Club Lounge’. The garages themselves will be six to seven metres wide along with a five metre door width. That said, there will be a stewards room, media room with a capacity to accommodate 200 people and a VIP lounge room apart from the administrative offices.

Currently, India has three major racetracks, the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida, Madras Motor Race Track in Chennai and Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. The Nanoli Speedway will be fourth in this line and it is indeed a big boost to racing and motorsport activities in India. Moreover, track venues in the country are undergoing a transformation with both the MMRT and Kari Motor Speedway currently being upgraded. Let’s hope that the construction and development of the Nanoli Speedway runs on schedule so that we can blast through the racetrack in some of our favourite cars!

Lengths of major racetracks in India:

BIC: 5.1km

MMRT: 3.7km

Nanoli Speedway: 2.9km

Kari Motor Speedway: 2.1km

An excellent facility who have supercars, sports cars in around Pune as well as for Mumbaikars.

Re: Nanoli Speedway set to be India’s newest racetrack

Finally! More than just having access to a track for racing events, this will transform the track edition car culture in Mumbai and Pune.
Delhi,Bangalore and Chennai have always been front runners in track cars like the GT3,GT2,AMG GTR,Speciales,Pistas etc primarily due to the owners having easy access to a good track to enjoy their car’s full potential. I reckon the same culture would grow in bombay even though we already have a bunch of track cars here already.

Re: Nanoli Speedway set to be India’s newest racetrack

I think the one thing that will keep this afloat unlike BIC is the location. Pune is where quite a few big manufacturers are present, so we could see a lot of track days or training programmes, maybe even one-make races, set up by these companies. Promising!

Karun Chandhok had tweeted a few months ago that he's currently designing two tracks, one of which is this. Hopefully the other one is close to Bangalore. That would be great.

Is it just me, or are there a lot of 'hairpins' ? T11/T12 looks interesting. T1 for sure looks like an accident spot.

Re: Nanoli Speedway set to be India’s newest racetrack

I have zero experience about race tracks apart from driving few laps around Buddh International (BIC). However, just from a layman prospective, this track layout looks so ugly.

But it's a good news. We as a country need more tracks. Slapping unrealistic speed limits on highway can never stop people to speed & crash, rather giving these speed hungry people access to a track is far better, safer, social & scientific way to satisfy that hunger.

Every state & specially larger cities must have a track within 2/3 hours of driving distance.

World's 7th largest country, 2nd most populated country, having 2nd largest road network has just 3 publicly accessible race tracks?

We need more tracks.
