Guys,

Sincerest apologies to Dom and his team. I stated in the opening post of this thread that Doms Civic lost to the Subaru Impreza WRX STi.

The fact is...The Civic won!

Original post has been edited.

Everything abt the car was amazing except the fake exhausts on either sides and the leaping cat which shouldn't have been there. COme on why do you wanna go out of the way to show u have a Jaguar. People who know cars know its a Jag. Those who dont, dont care abt them.

This is pure conjecture on my part, but I feel that car would've been badly humiliated by much humbler cars, had it raced! I'm not surprised it didn't run, seeing as it "looked good" just sitting parked there!

Why do you have a standing 3 point star on a Merc? Why do you have a Flying Lady on a Rolls Royce?

I really dont think it would have been humiliated really. This car was the fastest automatic at some point of time. And the XJS is a class apart . Sure it would have lost most probably but you never know there would have been something special in store . But just seeing this car on track would have been sheer bliss.

The Amby raced and lost too but I dont think it was disgraced in any way now was it?

Very true. Even the TWR tuned cars had a 0-60mph time of 6.5 secs - fast for their time, not so now.
But then, our friend in the Amby knew that too, didn't he? I can think of one chap who didn't - the fellow in the 360.

Hey! I cheered wildly when I saw the Amby racing! It was great to see something so unexpected at the track! But think about it, there was no way the Amby could have been disgraced, because nobody would have expected it to do anything. A Jag XJS, on the other hand...how sad would it be if something like a stripped-out, beefed-up Maruti Zen cracked it? Like I said earlier, having driven that very car some years ago, unless it's had some very MAJOR work done, it's not very fast.
