"Karma" Wins FSAE Design Challenge 2009!

Hey guys, this is Rajeev from Team MHSSC Racing, Mumbai.

For those who are new to FSAE, in short, its a competition for engineering students who have to design & build their own race cars.

We had started the FSAE project 8 months back & a lot of bad luck & hard work later, we have managed to complete our FSAE car titled "Karma"

For those who have missed my earlier thread on the building of the car, here is the link-
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/techni...-fsae-car.html

Karma participated in the FSAE design challenge 2009 held in chennai on 11th & 12th of november.

We bagged the 1st place in all the three events as follows-
1) 1st place in best design
2) 1st place in best presentation
3) 1st place as overall winner

to cut the long story short, here are the pics of the car-

Congrats @Raj.
Thats quite an achievement and a deserving cheque.
The alloys are looking good. One snap should go to the Alloys showoff thread.

But congrats once again. Good show!

Awesome! Now I know why your jeans look like that. Your Karma made you win. If you know what I mean.

Must be a great feeling after all that hard work, eh?

Congratulations on making an awesome machine. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you guys spend over the course of these 8 months? Considering you've posted the stock horsepower ratings, did you do any modifications to the internals? Any plans to develop this further?

Congrats! Rajiv.

This is probably the first time, a Team from our College has won (ever).

We did manage to get a 5th position in this year's BAJA Design Challenge and are now going to participate in the main event in January.

I remember these guys working on the car on the day when they were supposed to leave. The Transportation tempo was waiting outside and all the team members were busy assembling the whole car. Great work!

we spent around 2.5 lakhs in this time period.

no mods to the engine till now due to unavailability of funds, it can of course be planned now.
