I'am really looking forward to this event and curious to check out exotics and normal cars boosted for this event.

Is that Reva with a 'Busa engine confirmed for participation? If yes, then it would be amazing to see sub-10 sec quarter mile for first time in India if he can manage that in real event.

All the best to Hyderabad Team-BHPians participating in this event

Will post the pictures later today.

It was an exciting day and we all had a nice time getting toasted under the sun! (except for the "T" spoilsports!)

Couldn't make it to the Drag on Sunday as was too tired to get out of the house even. Let me also congratulate the Team Mars for doing an excellent job and making the Peugeot a winner.

I now look forward to pictures doing the talking.

P.S.: Based on a few videos, I understand the drag had to be wound up prematurely. Is it true?

Our very own fieroid i.e. Joel Joesph was present with his OHC Vtec and apparently placed first in the Street Stock upto 1650cc.
Congratulations to him.

It was an exciting day at the event yesterday. However, a few points to note :-

a) There were very few participation both in SKB's and Car categories. It was a big disappointment to me

b) Organizing comittee didnt organize it properly. Strip was more than 1km away from parking and not to mention the exorbitant parking charges

c) Kudos to Team Mars for their participation. Prabhu in his special DragStar did an excellent job.

d) The track was narrow and people were creating a nuisance by climbing and walking across the track etc.

e) The most impressive run was by Nissan GTR, Q7 (4.2TDI), Blue Colored Honda City Vtech and quite a few Esteems who did much better job than RS, Accord and Civic's

The drag stopped prematuredly due to some reason that we couldnt fathom. Overall, it was good fun ( except for the scorching sun)

Although the number of participation was less this time as well as audience, which was all thanks to the selection of the venue, the event went on well.

There were quite a few awards received by the participants from Team Mars. The following were the awards that Team Mars got:

Indian Open: Prabhu secured 1st position
Diesel Class below 2300 CC: Arun secured 1st and Suren secured 3rd
Street Stock upto 1150 CC: Rajesh secured 1st
Street Stock 1650 to 2050 CC: Sudhir secured 3rd
Street Stock above 2050 CC: yours truely secured 2nd

Had the team got a chance to run more in the Diesel and Indian Open, I am sure they would have secured a few more cups.

Great effort by the folks.

Thanks team for all the support.

Cheers,

MC, I was running the RS. Turbo charged cars have a multiplication factor of 1.7 for petrol and 1.4 for diesel. Hence, the RS can participate in 2051 CC and above category.

Cheers,

A real sad event, do the organisers even care for the participants or what, no facilities what so ever, and to top it, insane charges with no disregard for the guys participating, really disgusting.

@killer, oh yeah, done with the bikes and moving on to cars, the guy is going to kick some serious A@#$.

The reason for the abrupt ending of the drag with lots of cars not getting a chance to run is in this video.

As per the organizers, safety of the participants and the audiences was more important and I think they did the right thing!
