Good stuff from BMW. The car looks much more aggressive from the front and sharp. Also, I love the little dropping curve at the front, look from the side angle and you will know what I am talking about.

PS: Is it me or the headlamps design looks similar to New A6?

Re: The 2012 F30 BMW 3 Series Unveiled. Details on Page 3

Hmm. Quite undecided on whether to love or hate. It does look aggressive, but at he same time, it looks like it coulda done with a bit more work.
One thing's for sure, it does not give out a calm image. has the look of a 'rip-to-shreds'. but i would still vote for the merc c-class over this in terms of exterior looks.

2012 looks like its gonna be a great year.
The new A4 most possibly. The Q3, the fortuner facelift, mini-cooper! Fun!

Re: The 2012 F30 BMW 3 Series Unveiled. Details on Page 3

Can't get over this car, Finally done reading all about it and all the pictures and have to say this is the best 3 ever, Loving the extremely aggressive front, love the new grill merging with the head lights a superb implementation by BMW and there is not one thing I would change about the Interior but I seriously hope BMW do not get the Modern line to India and stick to just the 'Sport' & 'Luxury'

Another thing I wish they offer the 'M' Pack, I have never seen such a beautiful steering wheel in a mass market car of this kind, heck even the new M5 does not have such a dynamic wheel, imagine how good the M3 will be?

And anyone wondering if this will be a drivers car? Yes it will as it retains the entire BMW DNA and still has the 50:50 ratio, some may say new BMW's drive a little softer but they have only become a lot better.

If you need more information please find the below links for the catalogue and price lists for Germany, Please note 316d / 318d / 320i release much later and of course they will be joined by the 330d / 335d & the range topping M3!

All information and catalogue in PDF format

Below is the new German price list to give you an idea of the price hike compared to the previous model this is very marginal in fact nil if you compare few additional equipments now standard and the overall quality. So don't be pushed around with any reports claiming new 3 will be very expensive so buy X/Y/Z.

German market price list

The new 3 will expand into the Coupe / Convertible and the GT in due course of the next 18 months.

Regards,

2012 BMW 3 Series Unveiled

BMW has introduced the next-generation 2012 3-Series.

The range-topping 335i comes with a twin-turbo 3.0 liter inline six-cylinder unit producing 306 PS (225 kW / 302 hp).
The new 3er still offers the 320d EfficientDynamics with 163 PS (120 kW / 161 hp) with a fuel-economy rating of just 4.1 liters/100 km and a CO2 quotient of 109 g/km.

Most people might find is conservative but i think its a Mean looking bimmer... Pretty sure it will continue the reign of the current 3er.. Its got SWEET interiors, great side profile as always.. the only problem is that the rear is too 5ish. But i think i can live with that.

Re: 2012 BMW 3 Series Unveiled

Meh... Looks like a 5 which in turn looks like a 7. Wish the interior could be better designed, hoping the quality to be better than previous models. I would like put c-class and a4 before this in terms of looks and interior design.

Just impression from photos. How it looks in real life is more important. Will keep my final judgement till i see it, feel it, drive it.

Yeah looks like its following the same trend as 7 & 5 which might have been done intentionally. The headlight & bumper design somehow looks inspired from Audi/VW

Very aggressive front end. Like all BMWs, I am sure the car will look more dashing in person.

The F30 has double wishbones at the front allied to multi-link (rear) suspension with variable damping control. Expect the ride to be brilliant like the new 5er.

Totally love the design. The front is just awesome. Very aggressive and well balanced. From some angles the F30 betters even the F10. BMW has done a great job in keeping the 3-er's essence, but has given it a whole new character.

Lovely !!

Re: The 2012 F30 BMW 3 Series Unveiled. Details on Page 3

The car looks great, for me the front looks more similar to 2011 Z4 with slight change to the headlight position. I personally feel that the dashboard could have been bigger, I mean little forward than cutting it immediately after the windscreen.

You will feel the difference when you drive a Nissan Maxima or Toyota Avalon (few thousand dollars less than 3) and then you try a 3. Because this you feel like I should go for 5 not 3..

I liked the front-end. And more important, the car does have individuality (not exactly a smaller 5). Noticed that the corona-rings have lost a bit of shape!

Re: Spied:2012 BMW 3 series sedan

Striking feature, the swooping down of the bonnet and ending into those lowered headlights,i thinks thats very unique and has taken inspiration from the Z4.

Other than that the only part which i dont like is the small connecting thingy between the headlights and the grille.

Re: The 2012 F30 BMW 3 Series Unveiled. Details on Page 3

Looks decent but not what I'd want a BMW to look like. I'm sure many would disagree but the Bangle'd Bimmers have been the best iterations till now in my opinion. The rear of the new 3er is exactly like the 5! Front looks kinda Z4-ish and the car overall looks quite hot in red.
Now to wait and see if it retains the 'ultimate driving pleasure' DNA which I'm quite apprehensive about considering the new Bimmers have gone softer. Engine options are still exciting though.

Re: The 2012 F30 BMW 3 Series Unveiled. Details on Page 3

Since China is increasingly becoming such an important market, hence I feel BMW like most others is slowly deserting the overall elegant classy looks and adding one quirky design feature at a time. Thumbs down for the front end.
