The new Maserati SUV will be called Cinqueporte (pronounced as ˈtʃinkwe- porte, meaning five-door in Italian). This news comes from an Italian publication which suggests that Maserati has registered ‘Cinqueporte’ as the name for the new car with the European patent and trademark office. The new name is very Maserati-ish as we have seen in the past. The four-door saloon from the car maker is called the Quattroporte, also after four-doors.

Re: Maserati Kubang SUV - Revealed at Frankfurt!

Same funda as the Cayenne I guess.

Since it is almost surely the last one of the block it does kind off look like the Outlander, Infinity, Q5 put together with the Maserati look.

Looks are always questionable and there is a fair % which love and buys the Cayenne.

But then it is what it claims to be a Maserati SUV that in the going fast department would be closest matched by the Cayenne (for similar sized vehicles) and proabably be hopeless as a true SUV - the art of which does takes years to get right.

Re: Maserati Kubang SUV - Revealed at Frankfurt!

The Maserati SUV now will be called as "Levante"

^ Maserati confirmed the name of its new SUV at the 2012 Paris Auto Show. It scrapped the Kubang name, which was used on the concept version. The Levante name is derived from "Via Emilia Levante" in Bologna where, almost a century ago, the Maserati brothers came up with the idea for their company.

- Maserati Levante is expected to offer a Latin blend of the BMW X6 and Porsche Cayenne.
- Drivetrains for the Levante will include new 410-horsepower twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine, a 530-hp twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V8 engine and a turbodiesel engine.
- The all-wheel-drive system will be modified for the Levante's dual-purpose role, however, and Maserati is expected to draw on sister brand Jeep's expertise for the SUV's rough-terrain capabilities. Also the Levante will share underpinnings with the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
- The key ingredients in the Maserati Levante will be a sporty feel, pavement-biased driving dynamics, athletic styling and room for five.

The Levante is slated for launch in the first half of 2015.

Re: Maserati Levante SUV (earlier called Kubang) - Revealed at Frankfurt!

2017 Maserati Levante revealed ahead of schedule by leaked patent images.

Will rival the Porsche Cayenne and the Land Rover Range Rover Sport , BMW X5-X6.

Built in Turin, Italy, the no-longer-fully-shrouded Maserati Levante is expected to bow at the 2016 edition of the Detroit Motor Show that will open its doors next January.

The images confirm Maserati’s first-ever crossover borrows more than a few styling cues from the Ghibli and the range-topping Quattroporte. Up front, it features sharp headlights, a hexagonal grille with eight vertical slats, large air dams and a power dome hood. The fenders are fitted with three vents, a heritage-laced stylistic feature shared with the Quattroporte, the Ghibli and the GranTurismo.

The roofline peaks above the driver and gently slopes down towards the back. Pronounced haunches and a rakish D-pillar appear to give the Levante a sportier silhouette than the Porsche Cayenne and the Land Rover Range Rover Sport, two of its closest rivals, but it’s too early to tell for sure. Out back, the off-roader gains Quattroporte-inspired tail lamps, a roof-mounted spoiler, and four oval exhaust tips.

Quote:
Technical details were not leaked but an earlier report claims the Levante will be offered with two V6 engines rated at 350 and 450 horsepower, respectively, and a 580-horsepower V8 tuned with input from Ferrari. In the United States, the three engines will send power to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
