No Ordinary Seizure - Only 11 Supercars

I was amazed to read this article. French Police seized not 1 not 2 but 11 Supercars belonging to the son of an African Dictator (President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea) in Paris. These are not run of the mill F430s, 911s or Gallardo's. Presenting the awesome 11:
1. Maserati MC12
2. Bugatti Veyron
3. Bugatti Veyron GrandSport
4. Ferrari Enzo
5. Ferrari 599 GTO
6. Rolls Royce DHC
7. Bentley Azure
8. Aston Martin One 77
9. Porsche Carerra GT
10. Aston Martin V8 V600 LeMans
11. Bentley Brooklands

Although he has not made the best use of his country's wealth, but that is one epic collection! God knows how many more he has in other parts of the world. Perhaps a few of our country's corrupt men have such an awesome collection somewhere! I would love to go and seize these on behalf of our tax payers.

Ethics of the lot aside one must admire the chap for his taste! He probably used up a few years' GDP. Also, will need a big chunk of the GDP to keep them in repair and fuel.

Jokes apart, that is one helluva collection. The Maserati MC12 Corsa takes the cake for me. I love that beautiful Aston Martin V8 V600 too. Would have looked better in another colour. British-Racing-Green, perhaps?

What's surprising is that there is not even a single Lamborghini here, or maybe they've been locked up and kept away in some other country? Or maybe the raid took place before he could take delivery of his Aventador?

And why two Veyrons? One itself is overkill, if you ask me! But then I'm no one to judge.

so now what happens to these cars ? will they export to guinea? or will they sell and send the proceeds ?

Wish Indian Government allows Import of second Hand cars - maybe to begin with over 50,000 USD ...

i appreciate the way with which the police were handling the cars. if it were here - one tyre and a chain would have been used to lift the car and tow it away. here, they measure and then secure the cars before moving them! wow!

I think he's being investigated on corruption charges (surprise surprise!) by the UN and hence the French Police have seized his cars. He had also put an order for a $320 Million Yacht which has now been cancelled.

The Rolls and Bentley are both UK registered. Not sure why but I guess it must be for his drives from London to Paris! After all you need a decent car for a long journey!

These are just a bunch of the latest Ferraris, latest Bentleys/RRs etc and the now de reguir Veyron. Seems like every multi-millionaire/rapper/popstar/footballer has the same collection. Its not like he has a rare Porsche-959 like Boris Becker or a McLaren F1 like RalphLauren.

I don't really see any kind of serious taste...serious greed, yes.
