So, the first official looking pics start trickling in, and most probably it'll be hailed as the Huracan LP610-4!. So 610 horses guaranteed. Needless to say, I'm already in love. But, I remember this one was supposed to come with the slated rear window, like the one on the Miura. Maybe that will be an option, let's wait and watch!

Lamborghini has unveiled its successor to the Gallardo. The Huracan, as it is known, is powered by a Euro-6 compliant, 5.2-litre, V10 unit producing 610 hp @ 8,250 rpm and 560 Nm @ 6,500 rpm.

1)Also notable is the fact that it's going to be armed with a 7 speed dual clutch transmission, a first for a Lamborghini, which combined with AWD decimates the 0-100 km/h run in a scant, Ferrari F12 rivaling 3.2 seconds! So, no sledgehammer like shifts like on the Aventador on this one.

2)One more thing I noticed was the skinnier A-pillar, which should reduce blind spots and increase visibility from the carbon decked cabin.

3)Lastly,the slated rear window which harks back to the iconic Miura seems to be an optional extra, like the perspex engine cover on the erstwhile Gallardo, which also came as an optional bit.

I guess I'm overanalyzing things here, but couldn't help not noticing the uncanny resemblance, even with the surfacing and design language.That's the 2014 Esprit Concept, although chances of it seeing production look very slim.

I like the Huracan very much. Very clean lines and yet nobody will mistake this for not being a Lambo. The bad news is that the Huracan got no manual and only paddles.

TG says it is pronounced, ‘Ooh-ra-cahn'. And sniffpetrol says Lambo almost named it Bob.

As expected, it's a a bit too Aventador on the outside and a bit too Audi on the inside. But as long as it wears the Lamborghini badge you can't argue on that!

The recent Ferraris, when they were launched, they looked outright ugly to me. Over the time though, they have sort of grown on me. So, I expect Huracan can do well in that regard as for now it looks impressive (not mad though!) in the pics.

And if it's pronounced as how Top Gear mag quotes it, I am already in awe!
